It's great that you are promoting offal, the most nutritious food on the planet and so unappreciated in some countries. I have found kidneys in a UK supermarket for the first time, and your video nicely explained what to do before cooking. You're right, offal is delicious. Eating offal shows respect to the animal that has so much more to offer apart from the muscle meat. A very good video, thank you!

Ooooo! More of this, please! My family doesn't care for offal, so after I've taken what I want to cook up for me, I just add it into the grind for sausage. Spleen, liver, kidneys - even testicles a couple of times. The offal doesn't get wasted, and my Beloved Husband and Darling Daughter *rave* about their breakfast sausage ;-)

That is the best demostration of how to 'clean' a pig's kidney I have seen Thank you. By the way, as a retired veterinarian, I can tell you that what you call the 'core' of the kidney is known as the 'pelvis'. Just a little bit of useless knowledge!

I'm trying to rediscover kidneys. My grandma of northern european origin would make a kidney stew that was awesome over mashed potatoes. My mom always made a big deal over how the kidneys were cleaned. Nice chewy texture, very flavorful.

This sounds great. Ive been wanting to incorporate more organ meats into my diet and now I’m even more excited for deer season so I can get fresh instead of frozen organs.

They dont filter the urine, they filter the blood and excrete urine. Then tubes send it to the bladder. I ate 4 serves of liver last few days after reading one of the most nutritious foods and sleep way better and a bit of inflammation gone down as handwriting feels easier. Also vit A toxicity said to be mainly from supplements and taking excessive amounts for months and years. I want to cycle bone marrow, liver and kidney and heart. Been neglecting diet and hopefully eating organs sorts a few things out.

Does anyone know how to dehydrate beef kidneys for human consumption ?Found recipes for pets only.I know that kidneys need to be soaked in vinegar for the urine smell to go away.

We ate nearly every part of a cow growing up, about all I remember about kidney prep was boiling the piss out of them, on a stove just like yours :O

Yea, you can soak it in vinegar and water for about an hour and it'll go away.

Check out Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall Devilled Kidneys (sort of cooked in a mustard hot sauce). There is a video on youtube and a link to the recipe I believe. Very tasty. He uses lamb kidney I think, but I've made it with beef kidney.

Just found this channel, and I’m equally horrified and compelled to watch more. Not sure if I will eat offal after this or become a vegetarian. As I told a friend after she described butchering an elk on her kitchen table, I prefer to believe that my meat is born covered in Saran Wrap.
