Thanks for sharing! Here in Australia it is not well known that we can eat sweet potato leaves (also called Kumera leaves). I planted some just for the leaves a couple months ago and have been enjoying in stir fries and all sorts of meals since. Not convinced about adding tinned sardines (eeek!) but will give this a try minus the fish.

Now, here's one where I can easily find all the ingredients! (Miami, FL, USA). I have wondered for many years what people do with all those canned fish in tomato sauce, I think it's the single most common food in the world. They are getting cheaper and cheaper, and I just started to see big cans of this where the fish is in chunks. Sounds a little rough, but it's very cheap... and you're going to break it up anyway! Another interesting thing here is a canned mix of onions, peppers and tomato, for Spanish cooking. It looks like this recipe could almost be done with things you just keep in the house! You can buy the leaves, but they might just be growing in the yard. Good stuff. You have recipes here for ingredients that I have, but didn't know were edible!

Where do you buy the sweet potato leaves?
@leonardpearlman4017
@leonardpearlman4017 5 жыл бұрын
Well, in some places they're growing like crazy in your yard, trying to take over the garden.... I just recently heard that you could eat them! It's a good surprise, and how often does THAT happen? Where I live people LOVE sweet potatoes but think the leaves are poison, because they're confusing them with "Irish" (really Peruvian I guess) potatoes.
