I love Deddy! I love when men take pride in their food preparation whether it is their professional vocation or making meals for for their family and friends. Women - don't date or marry men that don't know how to cook! They don't have to be chefs but they have to know how to cook something or be willing to try and learn!

🥰👏🏽She is just having fun with her dad as they interact! That’s what happens in real life West Indies/Caribbean Kitchen; parents like having their adult/adolescent kids observing and asking questions as they cook! It’s the best way of bonding with your parents and siblings! It simply brought back those memories of pure family bliss. Guyanese here and my parents use the same dialects (fresh to mean bland, crate coconut opposed to canned coconut milk, make us drink the water, etc). Your dad is awesome and he really still got it! God blessed him and your entire family! These moments are cherished for a lifetime.🥬🥥🍋🥂

As someone watching from the U.K. I can respectfully state that your dad is absolutely correct. He said the chicken should be ready in 3/4 of an hour. That is also correct. I think that Canadians and Americans from the USA speak American English, where as a person of your fathers generation tends to still speak English. Jamaica is now heavily influenced by the USA - so everything is now Americanised. Great show. The chicken looks great. However in the U.K. we kinda prepared it slightly different. The rice looks delicious. A+ for both the dish and presentation. Thanks you & Peace 🙏😏

I watched all 42 minutes and 47 seconds of this and I appreciated every bit! Thank you for sharing this with us! I am pretty amazed at how it seems that half of these comments have nothing to do with the food or his cooking, but about the daughter who is filming and speaking. Everyone has their opinion, sure, but what is the need for the nastiness? In the whole video, the dad didn't seem irritated with her at all. They appeared to have a fun-loving relationship and showed joy over the cooking. And since I am new to Jamaican-style cooking, I appreciated her questions and commentary because there was a fair amount that "Deddy" didn't explain in the moment! That's not to insult the chef at all, it just helped to have the clarifications. Anyway, so many seemed to have negative opinions, so that was mine. 🌞 Thanks for this fantastic video, will come back for more!

Oh my goodness I’m glad I stumbled Upon on this. Daddy and daughter, what an awesome relationship It’s beautiful. I think your banter with daddy just adds to the authenticity of the presentation of the program. I’m in the U.K. and I keep saying to my dad about your dads resemblance to someone we know over here. Eyes, hands, movements, smile, lips, everything. God’s grace, health and blessings to you all and mum. This is my first watch so please forgive me if there are any sibs but big love to all the family. 🙏🏾

Beautiful meal. Made me miss my moms cooking. A lot of what your dad did reminded me of my mom, from washing the chicken to the way he seasoned his rice and even him washing the cloth and making the washing sound. I also use to try and copy making that sound. Thank you to you and your dad for the happy memories and the wonderful visual of the meal.

Girl I knew you couldn’t wait to eat, I’m here drooling cause I know just how good that plate of deliciousness was gone taste. Thanks for sharing. BIG UP DADDY the chef👏🏽🙏🏽💕

I'm a southerner and we definitely clean our food. I used to watch how my mom would clean chitterlings. She would always say you can't eat from everybody. I applaud your father Mr. Deddy in his cleanliness and cooking. God bless him. Thank you for assisting him.

Salt is a phenomenal cleaner when you are clean meat and poultry. Kosher salt is number one to clean meat! VINGER can cook the meat if you use to much. Lemon is another alternative to cleaning meat and poultry.

I actually don’t mind her asking questions. Many of the questions she asks is questions I’m asking while I watch. I’m not of Caribbean descent so I’m a bit ignorant to some of these techniques and the reasons why. Thank you for sharing your wonderful father cooking skills with us. Now I have to try and find a local Caribbean market to find those seasonings or order them online somewhere. Oh and my dad always teases me about my “fresh” rice. Black people in southern US uses the term the same way as West Indians👍🏿
@namienamie21674 жыл бұрын
I've noticed that blacks from the southern USA, and Caribbean blacks make similar dishes. It makes me wonder what has been hidden from us. The Charibes (Caribs) were a tribe of native blacks, who supposedly resided exclusively in the Caribbean. I am wondering if they lived as far as the Southern USA. Additionally, the Tainos, another tribe of natives blacks in Jamaica and exclusive to Jamaica, are being told that they are Maroons from Africa. Then why are there Maroons all over the Caribbean? The Martin's knew the lands better thsn the Africans they brought in as slaves. How could these so called Africans got to know the land well enough to form a separate group and successfully rebel against the British? Research your own history and don't ask your enemy to tell your story.

@@namienamie2167 A lot to explain, and this comment was years ago, but the majority of the Tainos, Kalinagos "Caribs", were wiped out (genocide) at the beginning of slavery hence why we didn't retain a lot of their culture. The Jamaican culture is really a mixed culture where the majority of what we retain is from enslaved Africans, and it's not fully African culture because they were forced to make changes, etc. Southern USA had many enslaved blacks also, the slave trade was dominant in the Southern USA, hence why the dishes may be similar. It could also be because most immigrants from the Caribbean tend to reside in the Southern states, due to things such as the similar temperature...

It was a beautiful great momentum. This video brought me memories with my dad,having me testing his food while he cooked , laughing, joking, and having my father around. Girl, who ever said something is just jealous. God bless your dady, God bless your family. God bless you.
