I’m not vegan, at least not at this moment but I am testing the plant based life style for a time (also considering the ethical implications etc), and have been looking for transitional types of foods that really work. i wish i had a mom like you. i have celiac and at a young age i also wouldn’t eat meat so eating was hard. i got into eating tofu but after awhile my mom would stop caring and buy food that everyone else ate but me

I’ve made the KFC recipe from you guys about 5 times now - it’s the BEST! The last time I made it, I decided to coat the finished fried tofu in a simmered hot sauce & black pepper mixture. OMG. I’ve made a chocolate cream pie and peanut butter pie with tofu for a potluck and didn’t tell anyone the ingredients. They were inhaled 😂 both are from a 1980s cookbook called Tofu Cookery, would love to see you make some of the sauces in the book.

I always buy extra firm because I prefer the texture, but I learned here that it doesn't absorb marinades as easily. That makes sense! I will give firm a try next time.

For anyone that doesn't think in advance to do much prep ....i keep my tofu in the freezer and when I'm ready to cook, i defrost it in the microwave and then squeeze out the water by hand (as shown in the video). Season however you like and then bake/fry. I usually season with s&p, onion powder, garlic powder, acv, soy, paprika, green seasoning (mix of herbs), liquid smoke. Allow to marinade for a few minutes, coat with corn starch and fry. It's really crispy with the corn starch. And I'm eating this while watching the video. Tofu all the way. All these recipes look amazing. I've yet to try tofu in a dessert. Might try that one soon.

I once spent a whole day making tofu from scratch and sat down and ate the entire “loaf” because it was so remarkable. Store bought tofu is disappointing in comparison but I eat it because homemade is too much of a commitment. Love your recipes.
