I'm a physician & used to fast with totally vegetarian food. . But since I got Crohne's disease which is an autoimmune gut inflammation my father of confession advised me to eat cheese &/or eggs as my gut now cannot digest any kind of fibres (not all patients with the same disease have this problem with fibres but I do) now I find that eggs lack iron & omega 3 .. & some basic amino acids. . My point is revise (even temporarily through AI which micronutrients are lacking in your regimen & add them as supplements. . AI can tell you when to have them (how to avoid interactions) till you see a nutrition expert. . My advise to my patients is simple. . We fast to get out body quiet to let our soul free.. so if your body is quiet already due to illness you are so near to your target. . So whenever feel it is hard to work or hard to read or pray this means you exceeded your body capacity & need additional fuel that you are deficient of.. take it thankfully with faith that your fast is accepted = we offer God 100% of our love & effort. .= if I'm poor & all I can offer God is 1 pound to God it equals 100% of my capacity & love. .if I'm rich & can offer 1 million to God it means that it is all my capacity to give = 100% of it.. both are equal in God's eyes. .the love & effort is what matters. ..apply this to your fasting plan 100% of your effort ...101% if your capacity to tolerate is harmful & God does not ask for it..

Thank you Will, for a delicious recipe ❤ I made these tonight for my husband and I. I made half in oven. Then I fried a few of them in avocado oil. Both were equally crispy. But I preferred the ones in the oven -425F 15 mins. I have an ANOVA precision. Baking it in the oven was easier , faster and cleaner as well. I just arranged majority amount of them on parchment and voila ,done !…with easy clean up.

JUST MADE THIS!!! I used tomato paste instead of ketchup and regular breadcrumbs because panko is super expensive in Sweden. It turned out great though,, super crispy and the sauce is delicious - the sticks alone are quite flavourless but since they are a mere transport for crunchiness and the sauce, it's better to have them relatively neutral in taste, I think. The whole family loved it, so mgoi for this recipe!!
@swyoutubeaccount3 жыл бұрын
Your recipes have never failed me, Wil. :) My husband and I like this for when we want to indulge in fast food but we gotta save our money, haha After coating the fingers in panko, I laid them on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper, put it in the freezer, then bagged it the next morning to save for a quick dinner. I deep fried them straight from frozen a few weeks later and they turned out beautifully! I also put black garlic oil in the katsu sauce because we're obsessed with that stuff, haha

For the baked method, if you want it even crispier, in a dry pan, constantly moving, toast the panko to give it the color and crunch of the fried method. You'll still have to worry about water from the tofu coming out in the baking process, but hopefully you've had enough time to dry them fully. Also, I find that Worcestershire sauce and ketchup works better than soy. Tastes more like the bulldog brand in my opinion. Edit: also Cooking with Lau taught me to cut the tofu to the desired shape, then boil it in very lightly salted water to get the 'stale' water out and season the tofu at the same time. Then dry while you prepare the dredge and whatnot.

Fantastic recipe as usual! Just a thought though: when you're making a sauce or a dip I like to keep all my little screw top jars so when you put all the ingredients in, you can screw the lid of and give it a good shake. This really mixes it well, especially sauces or dips that contain miso which is hard to blend with other ingredients. Just a thought.

Great recipe very tasty. Have lost 15 lbs after two months of going vegan and this is one of the many meals that help. Thanks!

I used the katsu sauce recipe (ketchup, tamari/soy sauce and sesame oil) with another recipe for crispy tofu and my husband literally licked the little serving bowl. We decided to switch to katsu sauce when we make fries in our air fryer. YUM!! Thanks!

I’m making these for tea, I’m going to bake them though as we are cutting down massively on using oil. Fingers crossed they are as yummy as yours, I think I’m safe with the sauce 😂 thanks Will ☺️
