Thank you so much for this video. I have been a basket case for the past 2 days of my daughter going off to college for the first time. This helped me more than you know. Thank you.

teaching budgeting is a must, i have taken this past year to include him in our household finances completely to teach him all i know about it. taxes, saving, singking funds and some investing (even though my personal knowledge is limited in this area). cleaning/declutteiring, too (tha one is a struggle). thank you for the tip for setting up a keeping in touch expectation that works for both of us.

It didn’t hit me until I got home and in my child’s room…the quietness, the absence of my child, I broken down in utter dispair crying nonstop. My heart hurt, my stomach hurt, my chest hurt, my brain hurt and my eyes hurt from crying so hard..it was such an unexpected emotion of everything all together. Then I started thinking about my second child that I will go through this again next year..omg. It’s been a week and I had just visited this morning and now it almost 4 am the following morning and I had not slept a wink no matter how hard I tried. My child is adjusting well but I am not. Shame on me. I am the one struggling like a child. I miss my precious gem so much. What is this that I am going through? I don’t even know what is called.

My son left for college 60 days ago. I’ve been almost paralyzed ever since. I just can’t seem to do anything. Unmotivated zombie. Ugh.

Natasha, I’m in the same boat. My son is going to school in Virginia in a few weeks and I’ve been nuts since he decided to go. No hope for me.

Hi Natasha! This emotion is normal! Its a form of grief! But trust your gut instincts that you and your son have a good relationship and will be able to communicate and visit each other when appropriate. All the best!
