I have been watching your videos before and all through nursing school! I am finally finished and take my NCLEX on Tuesday. I also accepted a job in the Trauma ICU. During my interview, they asked me how I would cope with death. I referred back to this video which I watched years ago to answer the question professionally and efficiently! Thanks for everything!

thank you so much. I have been a nurse just over a year in a tele unit and just had my first patient passing last night. I know that the end was coming as she had many issues, but I tried to make the patient as comfortable as possible and woke up the husband before for him to say his goodbyes. I will never forget the patient or family.

I have been a hospice worker and I have always considered it to be an honor to hold the hands of those who are dying. I have always allowed myself some time to grieve. In giving comfort often times we receive comfort. As you stated it makes every day the most important day. Thanks for the videos, your great!

Exactly.. you can never ever take life for granted. Personally I've lost 3 family members, my dad, aunt and grandmother all who I was very close to in a matter of 2 years. Working as a CNA I've seen 2 deaths before since I've been working for a couple of months now and although it reminds me of my family members that also gives me time to really relate to the families

Thank you for your story. I had someone die under my care (I am not a nurse) and it was awful, but eventually I had to come to terms with reality. I was with my grandfather through the worst of times and I did the best that I could.

Anytime!! It really is one of the hardest things to deal with... but you are right, accepting the fact that you did the best you could & forgiving yourself is key :) I'm sure your grandfather was grateful for the care you graciously provided. Much Love, - Caroline

That was super helpful as usual...I'm on internship right now and my first day a patient died on my care it was horrible, but usually it's the family reaction that breaks my heart more then patient...because I know that death is a part of life and I'm accepting this fact...though their loved ones always manage to make me cry :(

Hi Caroline! Hope everything is going well with you. I was wondering if you could do a video on how you stayed organized during nursing school? What are some tips to stay ahead of the game? And did you use folders, binders, notebooks? And also did you ever bind your nursing books so they were easier to carry? Thank you so much for all of your amazing videos!

Received your nursing school book from Amazon last week! Haven't had a chance to read it just yet, as I'm in Micro right now with a brutal instructor. Waiting on a hopeful acceptance letter in April :)

The first time I had my patient died on my shift, I cried a bit. Cause, the point I did my best, youre still asking to yourself, but why he died. Its out of my control, just do your best.

I think the best way to deal with death, if you are religious, is to think that you've just helped them go to that final place they have always wanted to be in, you have just helped them reach heaven and you got to be apart of there journey home.

Ur beautiful....Ask the saying ones to do the best they can to feel light inside...Than go heavy...But dont care much...Death should be actually celebrated...The leaving of a corrupt body to a light soul of enjoy ment...Even i had out of body experience...Changed me to the core
