So syncing from iPhone to Gmail is always a manual process, while Gmail to iPhone is automatic?

All the contact profile pics disappear when you export the contacts as a single VCF file. If you export them as individual vcf files the profile is there but you cant batch import them into gmail (you have to import the files one at a time)
