So glad to hear the advice of doing a panel at a time. I have everything I need to start paint correction but it's so daunting to think about doing the whole car in one go.

Thanks for taking the time to explain each step and the products you used and in combination to get the results you wanted. I'm going to try this on a Black 93 Miata tomorrow. Single Stage Paint.....Rookie.....wish me luck!

Didn't realize ceramic coating could be applied to single stage paint 🤔. That's great info.

Help !!...I git single stage black paint on my 81z28. I accidently got brake cleaner spattered on to it. It left white marks on my paint. It seemed to have removed the pigment from the paint. Any idea if it can be fixed? Thank

Great video. I live in Phoenix. Where can I go to have someone do paint correction on my 1991 single stage paint?

Like that, mixing polish and compound, cool

Absolutely! It's a great technique to try out, especially on lighter colored vehicles. Keep in mind that it may leave a slight bit of haziness on darker colored finishes though, so you may need to grab a fresh White Foam Pad and polish the area a second time with just the white Polish to get it to finish down perfect!

a body shop told me 90s Honda cars had single stage paint from OEM. Is that true or is he B.S. me?
@MrBluefuziion Жыл бұрын
Most likely true. I have a 1996 Miata and from this era they mostly used single stage paint.

I noticed he used the orange swirl and scratch compound on one video on a car with single stage paint, but hes using the blue compound with this one, Im curious why that is. More than one way to skin a cat?

Hi there! If I'm thinking of the right video, that was actually an older video from about 5 years ago where Adam used the orange Correcting Polish and an Orange Foam Pad to polish the single stage paint on a '65 Mustang. That orange Correcting Polish was discontinued, and the new orange/peach Scratch & Swirl Remover is a more gritty and aggressive hand polish. You could use the new Scratch & Swirl Remover with a machine polisher, but it will be a more aggressive cut, so it may not be well suited for an older single stage paint finish. The new blue Compound he is using in this video is what replaced the old orange Correcting Polish, as well as the old blue Heavy Correcting Compound - we moved down from a 3 Step Process to a 2 Step Machine Process. Hope that clears things up!

It does have clear coat. It's mixed in with the base coat. If there was no clear coat then the paint wouldn't be shiny.
@jamesbrewer31909 ай бұрын
no but yes. It’s shiny because of the way the chemicals react. A clear coat is a second coat that goes over a base coat
