This seems like a small point but, I bought small convex mirrors (chose the *rectangular* ones ) for the 1st time - mostly because the glass portion of both side mirrors don't stay in place. I realized I didn't know which corner to apply them. Since then, I've seen others place them in different corners: top/ bottom and top/bottom inner corners Also, I applied them with the long sides horizontally. Does it make a difference where they're applied?

Hi Ayesha Flores - Thank you for your query. Most convex mirrors that I've seen are attached in the outside bottom corner of the mirror; but these work too if these are mounted at the outside top. It's a personal preference my friend. All the best, Cheers Rick

Just passed my Class 5 test. This examiner was so impressed by my driving he complimented after we got into the office. I got like 3 demerits, but even he confessed they were pretty much insignificant (e.g. turn position) . There was a part where it was green and I had to make a left turn, but as soon as I entered the intersection it turned amber and I cleared the intersection. There was also a part where there were constructions and he told me to make a right turn while pointing his pen, so I just changed to the right lane and followed the direction of his pen. But it turned out to be blocked, so I just did the best thing and sat there and wait for a left lane change and make the right turn. He told me i could've stopped (no timer on pedestrian light), but does he really think I can magically count the invisible timer from green to amber? I mean he could've equally said "why did you stop at green?" Anyways, I had a fair examiner. Didn't ask for x-point turns (I found out later it was illegal in Vancouver lol), parallel parking, identify hazards, etc. I had to back in though. What this made me realize is that during a left-turn at intersections, there are just so many things that are beyond the driver's control.

Hi Rick, I got my G2 license in May and I took rental cars most of the weekends till now. I avoided highways till last weekend. Only last weekend I went for drive first time on highway. It wasn't 100% smooth but at least I didn't cause any problem to others and me. I kept on right lane mostly and the speed was between 90 and 100, while the max speed on highway was 100 and most of vehicles were 120-130 kph. Was that a correct thing for me to do?

Thanks for these helpful videos. In the Bay Area in Northern California, some freeway entrances are extremely short. How would you handle a merge in this case? Here is one example: Charleston onto US 101. In this case, there is basically no acceleration lane. Also, this one converts to an off-ramp a very short distance ahead, so people may be trying to exit at the same time as you are entering.
