In fairness the grav slam is mostly killing via shockwave. An upright barrier is really what should stop that from killing you and besides, Ruins grav slam is disgustingly OP simply because it basically has no counter. Its nowhere near as powerful as in BO3, where the grav spikes could kill you even if you were at max booster height above him, or even if you were at the other side of a relatively big room; but its still a 360 degree, nigh instantaneous, basically unblockable explosion. SOMETHING had to be able to counter it in this game, because it was broken in BO3. Hell it even charges faster than pretty much everything else and its the least skilled specialist weapon in either game. You could literally rename the fucking grav slam to "Press L2+R2 to pay respects" and it would make as much sense as calling it Grav slam.

I can agree with that, but tbh I think Ajax shield is far more OP.. As OP as Ruin is, I've still shut down 2 more Ruins mid slam then I have killed ajax behind his shield which is a cold hard 0. Not to mention with Ruin you have to get lucky and get multiple to stack up, which granted is not hard.. but the more there are the higher risk you die mid slam. Ajax on the other hand can pop it and run and as long as he plays his angles, he is almost unstoppable. I've legit seen an Ajax spawn trap our entire team by himself.

@@MrFirefox365 Any ruin that understands the grapple and spawns can score an easy multi slam and have another slam ready after around seven kills dude. If an Ajax does pop the shield right before he runs into a group yeah he should probably be guaranteed a single kill bare mimimum but everyone else should get out easy. He literally shouts a voiceline before he even gets the shield out, then he has to pull the shield out, then he has to fortify all before he can actually kill someone and the shield itself takes a pretty long time to charge. If you hear that shout, run in the opposite direction. You literally cant miss it and theres no way in hell he's gonna gun everyone down. It takes too long to get the gun up and you can get out of dodge before he even gets in the room. Compare that to Ruin who can make himself basically impossible to hit by grappling high and initiating the slam while he's up there, you can do that anywhere theres a high wall, and he goes up, hits jump at the top, goes flying into the air above the enemy team, hits slam and plummets straight down into a multikill. All in the space if about two seconds and with no warning and no chance of dying unless someone on your team is a god with a sniper rifle that can see him in the air, scope in and chest shot him before the grav activates. His grav slam doesnt actually have a voiceline either I believe. Not one thats said BEFORE he slams anyway. When he has killed you, he says stuff like "Have a nice fucking day now" or other lines like that but, you get no warning before hand. Its so much deadlier and so much easier to use. It applies to other situations than just pushing into a group too. Are you sniping and someones got into the room with you? Grav slam. Have three guys suddenly run out the door you're moving to? Grav slam. Objective need clearing? Grav slam. Its something that can be planned or just used as a reaction and its almost always gonna kill the person, if not several people, no matter how well prepared you are for it. Ruin is the one character that makes my chest just sink when I run into him on close range because I know that if he has the slam; and I dont kill him in basically my first shot, he could kill me with no effort whatsoever. But Ajax? I'm scared of his flash, not his shield. I can outrun the shield in 9/10 situations. The flash is something much harder to counter, because its basically a non lethal copy pasta of the grav. Ruins a suicide bomber without the suicide, Ajax is just a slightly more annoying wall that can be avoided pretty easily in all honesty. Compare that to

Not really, the same was done for WW2's shield and the answer was "Learn what a grenade and rocket launcher is, or learn how to walk left." And that was it. This Shield is GENUINELY powerful, yes. But the COD community in general has this weird hive mind responsr where they see a shield in their game and immediately blue screen, full system failure as they're reduced to quivering wrecks. "Oh no! A one sided meter wide wall, WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!?"

Petrol bombs are decent, RPG if you can aim it right, or just running away and letting them pursue you through a doorway that you can whack them in. You dont have to fight, to win

Right now it's not fair that hes in the game, or at least this broken. You should definitely take some sort of recoil when hit with an explosive, and it should unfortify the shield. Right now the shield is broken, especially on PC when you can flick and turn faster to protect from people getting behind you.

Frags are awful, they need a fuse reduction and possibly a throw distance buff, mollies are equally bad, they dont do enough damage to deter people from running through them, probably because they dont set people on fire they just burn them for wound damage but you can run through it for like twenty damage or jump over it in many cases, the axe is an axe, and the trophy system has less stuff to catch because special gear isnt always thrown and most normal gear is bad. But a concussion? That shits BETTER than Ajax's flash and on a shorter cooldown, also meaning its better than most other gear unless you're a defensive character. Trip mines and barbed wire are both genuinely good, but othrr gear is questionable. Tac deploy doesnt last long and using it is only truly useful if your team is dying rapidly in most modes. Dom, yeah its worth having but many others its not. Concussions are ruins best friend too. Good luck killing him before he gravs you when none of you can focus fire in a straight line. The concussion is top tier mate, it pairs with practically any aggressive special weapon and its highly usable in all non specialist situations. Nobody can stop you from graving a room when stunned, from purifying it, from chain lightning it, war machine (although granted if its the war machine they're probably fucked anyway) the annhilator, all of them work so damn well. Firebreak is probably the main competitor just because his reactor can kill everyone inside without ever putting himself at risk, but even then it has a pretty long cooldowb even with the faster cooldown device. If you dont have concussion nades on atleast three classes, you should probably go change that because they're godly. And you dont even have to use them for your own fights to get massive use out of them. If you see a team mate or two running into the maps main choke point and theres enemies in there, toss the stun in, if you stun someone; or more likely like three someones, and your teammate kills them you get 100 points for each person you stunned ONTOP of the points from stunning them in the first place.

Stock One doesn’t allow perfectly accurate jump shorting while stock two allows jump shotting AND drop shotting without going into hip fire. Strafe speed doesn’t change that much. If you don’t drop shot, stock two isn’t worth it IMO

As a firebreak main I constantly use reactor core so most Ajax’s are never an issue, just melt them through a wall. The only time they’re problematic is when they’re defending a position with torque, or pushing an enclosed area

No i really dont think so.. I think instead of being able to shoot threw the shield, you can place it down (like black ops 2) and you can pick it back up. Also they can use the rainbow six 6 technique where you can put it in a door and when people try to get threw, you gotta jump over it.

Pretty sure for the first couple of days FMJ2 on titan worked against the viewing window of the shield, I'd killed one doing that before but unfortunately seemed to be patched out pretty quickly.

I usually play aggressive on a Ajax. If you plan to get behind a shielded ajax, shoot as much into the glass area while youre sliding or running behind him. It makes it more difficult for him to track you and lose awareness of nearby teammates to assist. Works every time, if 1 on 1 i runaway until another teammate comes in to help.

Best (imo)? Fmj 2 and frags... Frags, like rockets, can one shot the wire, but frags don't have wonky flight characteristics. Plus, like in any fps, grenades are pretty good at flushing out a camper in general. And fmj 2 just shreds through both the wire and the barricade. Specialist-wise...Firebreak's radiation might work well enough if you can hug the wall outside the camping spot... Nomad's dog works ok if it can reach them...Battery's cluster and launcher...Ajax shield rush...

I would say it is op but I started using it and realized how effective it is against campers and spawn trappers. Specially if you're playing solo. The biggest mistakes people make against me is challenging me 1v1 but when multiple people engage and try to flank the shield is not very good.

Everyone is saying his shield is overpowered or broken yet it's not. His front is practically invincible but he doesnt have the best accuracy or movement. He's a close kill very hard to kill character. You also rarely run into him for most of the match. You'll run into him an average 2-3 times if there is 1 or 2 Ajax's in the match and it isn't impossible to kill him. Simply run away from him and shoot from a distance or just run. He can't kill you from far so you definitely can run away especially if he's fortified. Everyone just wants something to complain about. It isn't like a gun like the Vapr or Maddox where you can run into it in a regular match every like 10 seconds or shorter where you get in gun fights. You'll rarely run into him. Just stop fucking complaining ffs.

I play as Ajax and I find after a while You are able to shoot through the window. Mainly with snipers. I have done this my self with just an ICR with no FMJ

I usually run around a corner and then slide out and jump shot after the slide, you usually end up getting behind them because they think you’re sitting in the room you ran in or you ran, if you do it quick enough, they might not even realize.

Didn't you forget Prophet's Tempest Sniper? A direct hit to the fortified shield downs Ajax as if he didn't have the shield at all. And if any enemies are following behind the shield and walk into Ajax while he is downed, they will be downed to.

I think that FMJ should be able to penetrate the glass portion of the shield. The rest should be impervious but the glass should be able to be broken. Maybe 10 shots with FMJ to start would be nice.
