Matt, I know this is a late comment, but after watching, I rigged up a TUSH with a 2 5" tube to put on my deck. After working a cent. WI lake I know well with very little success, I moved out to the deep weed line and started " cracking" the tube... A technique I've never tried... And guess what... I caught a (your term) " pile of fish"! Thanks for always teaching.

Matt thank you for a great show. Tubes are and always will be in my arsenal . I lost a huge bass a couple years ago on a large tube. They catch fish just about every lake and the delta. Thank you

Like the first swim jigs with the articulating EWG hooks! Didn't realize there were different jig heads for swimming jigs? I just thought you reeled faster! Fished Lake Itasca in the Minnesota National Park where you can step over the Mississippi River! In the "60's" good fishing in the Lake! The Mosquitos were fierce!

Tubes and ESPECIALLY curly tail grubs are forgotten, and that's FINE by me! Let everyone reel in paddletail grubs TOO QUICKLY, and I will flutter grubs and spiral drop tubes and CLEAN UP in clear water.👍🏻🎣 If it ain't broke DON'T FIX! Same thing with Chompers skirted double tail grubs.💪🏻

Love my grubs as well. Down the river for smallies, and can't beat it. Great chatterbait and jig trailer, also. Chatter micro + 3" grub =$ as they say
@midwestfischerman3 ай бұрын
@NeilGraham.I.M.F You are absolutely right about grubs as trailers for Micro Chatterbaits! There's no interference with the blade action. You should try the 1/4 oz Mini Chatterbait as well, the perfect intermediate size between the Micro and Original.
@NeilGraham.I.M.F3 ай бұрын
@@midwestfischerman the mini is what I meant, not the micro. My bad. Was fishing the new bfs gear this weekend so I had micro on my mind

Tubes are phenomenal baits. Smallmouth killer bait, and as you say its effective on other species as well. I have caught tons of brook trout while fishing crystal clear lakes in the northeast.
