That looks great! I've been trying to find some of that verblee paint to spray in my hvlp gun.. but the only place I can find that type of pain is in England and the minimum order is like 160 pounds which is like I 120.00 plus shipping..so I'm just going to use that Montana crackle paint you have.. I bought a cheap Squier at Guitar Center for about $80 and got a different pickguard which has a hum single pickup configuration...you should use clear polyester made by simtec...its 90% the hardness of glass and sands and buffs really nice!! It's what most of the pro guitar shops use..it will easily cover the crackel paint and look pro when you done. Good video very informative!!

Best Crackle paint video I've seen yet, I finally have the nerve to do this! One thing I didn't catch... isn't the paint supposed to be a certain type, like lacquer, enamel, oil based, or something like that (which causes the crackle effect), ?

Also...was it the 'Fusion, All in one 5X' primer/paint?

@@hideoutdodge01 You need a glossy undercoat, which for me was a Jungle green Krylon. It was not the all in one, I primed it separately. On top I used Montana black Crackle. Thanks for the video, I put a really thick coat of turquoise Montana crackle on my freshly painted dark blue guitar and you were right, we really do have to put a really thick layer of crackle. I want to know, if you don’t put the clear coats on it, will the crackle paint peel off, because I don’t mind a textured guitar
@ForsytheVideo2 жыл бұрын
The paint will scratch very easy and bit will peel over time. My recommendation would be to just spay one good coat of clear and let it dry. It will still be textured, but it will be protected.
