You only need one or two stairways for a level (and you reuse them for each level), so spending a bit of time is worth it. I think the effect looks good. In real time it took longer to wait for the spray paint to dry (15 minutes) than to build and paint everything.

have you tried to raise the wall going up to the over hang,maybe using a small incline wall going towards the back to the over hang. I was thinking it would give it more depth, just a thought, you do awesome work. I just stumbled on to your site today while i was looking for ways to build dungeon tiles.
@TheDMGinfo7 жыл бұрын
shawn wilson you could. I just don't go above 3 layers. Mainly so that when you store them they are flat.

may i suggest for structual reasons + asthetic ones that you fill in the corrogation on the sided of the peice with wall sealing putty milliput or something then sand them to be flash
@TheDMGinfo10 жыл бұрын
You could. Or just add cardboard strips. I am too lazy to do that much though

Really nice effect. You should show the finished product a little more closely at the start, so we can see where the project is going. Thanks!

Have you ever tried highlighting the edges of the stairs going down with white like you did with the walls?
@TheDMGinfo10 жыл бұрын
Yes, it ruins the descending effect. I only highlight edges of things above the floor level, or that needs to attract the eye it floor level. The darkness is what is important here, if you add white it breaks it up and it looks like a normal straight tile

After ripping out the cardboard, I was afraid the bits of cardboard and glue would show a bit. So I glued some card stock down to the ripped out portions.

Hi DMG, A quick question: which layer of cardboard to you put on top? My double corrugated cardboard has two layers of corrugated but one if thicker than the other. Is it the same with you? In that case, which one would you recommend putting on top? (also: do you have a place where all these questions can be asked and answered? Or is here under the videos the best place?) Thanks!
@TheDMGinfo10 жыл бұрын
Under the appropriate video is fine. I would have the thinner layer on top. This will increase the stability of the cardboard.

TheDMGinfo Thanks for the quick reply! My three kids and I had a long weekend and spent most of it crafting and watching your videos! Very happy with the results. We have quite a few dungeons tiles now and some furniture!

Surely for this, it'd be easier to use single-layer corrugated cardboard and just make it double where you need it?
