Finally you can paint the nursery! Thank you for the compliment. I am trying to release one every 2 or 3 days. I shoot a whole bunch together and then edit and release. Trying to keep to a schedule. I have mapped out the first 25 or so...

Hey man! I'm am learning to make scenery craft like you and I used my first set a few days ago over with the house. My kids were so impressed that they are already wanting to see more! So, yeah, you're doing a GREAT JOB in helping others build some easy to make gaming scenery! Thanks, again for your instructions and KEEP posting!

Gareth, I must say I fervently await each one of your videos. I've even watched one at 3:30 am while we were nursing our newborn twins. I gotta say, I'm really liking your "stamp" technique. it gives depth to the piece while doing so quickly.

Yellow with a bit of brown and some white... So I would base the tiles with a matte brown spray paint (if you are doing a few) then do the sponge with yellow and brown. Then the stamping with Yellow and white. You could then do the advanced pattern in DMG#005 with brown instead of black and do the edging with a yellow white mixture, or just white. I have not tried this, but it should work nicely...

Just wanted to say; My gaming group uses 30 mm models, so I cut my "blotting" sponge to 1.25 inches (no idea in mm) to give them more a feel of size and a general guide for distances. It seems to work.

Love the vids! Got a few Qs. The acrylic paint i bought is cheapo and is less solid. It is matte finish. It seemed harder to get black white and gray except for the first 2 dabs. Also, I think the sponge I used was too porous. or at least the pores were too big. Should I used the cheaper quality sponge with more even small pores?
@TheDMGinfo
@TheDMGinfo 8 жыл бұрын
The smaller holes will be more "to scale", but really it is whatever you think looks cool. If you don't like it, just spray paint it black again, wait for it to dry and do it again :)

Love your tiles. I was trying to paint them but i used a different sponge type it seems to soak up the paint to fast and when i stamp leaves a bunch of air bubbles on the paint

This is great stuff! Thanks for the very amusing and informative walk-throughs. OK, so you stated that we can use these painted tiles right now while we play or we go to the next level of painting with the next vid. My question is how many experience points do we have to have to watch the next vid? Is it less if we've multi-classed in Artisan Bread or have a Feat for Improved Basket weaving?

I've watched all your amazing video's, and you have created a totally new hobby for me! And my newly re-established Pathfinder group are enjoying all the dungeons, doors, chests, webs etc. I've made so far (reminder to self: create thank you video to #TheDMGinfo - show my stuff and happy gamer group in action). One question: You previously mentioned a color stamp scheme for sandy stone - but could you perhaps share your thoughts on a stamping mechanism for indoor floor, like wooden planks ... an ordinary house/inn?

Great technique when you have 150 tiles to paint. Some people like DM Scotty add brown in. I want to add some green in. How would you add green in using your method?
@TheDMGinfo
@TheDMGinfo 6 жыл бұрын
Have a separate sponge with green paint and just dab it on here and there. I would do that before doing the final highlights and lines.

I don't know if this has been asked already, but what is that glass thing that you put the paint onto? Is it something that you have made up yourself or is it something that can be bought at a craft store?

so, I have made my first batch.... but I made the walls to thick! When I tried to cut them smaller, the double corrugated Cardboard rips. It messes them up, and they don't look that great. How do I fix this?
@TheDMGinfo
@TheDMGinfo 8 жыл бұрын
If you haven't painted them yet, rip the walls off - its only cardboard. If you have painted them, rip off the walls and spray paint the new walls black and then glue back on. You may need to cover the tile and respray the edges if you will see cardboard showing through with the thinner walls. Measure twice, cut once :)

@TheDMGinfo

+alzathoth I like it because it is quick and easy. HOWEVER, here the stuff costs more than $40 a can... so I don't do it. If you can get it cheap then I would encourage it

my paint just smooshes into 1 uniform grey colour. am an aussie and got my shit at spotlight and the spraypaint and sponge at bunnings cheapest shit i could find any ideas? the dabing you didnt really work excpet fkr maybe the first or second stamp, the scraping bits took forever to dry where yours looks fast dry. any sugestions? thiguhts?
@TheDMGinfo
@TheDMGinfo 7 жыл бұрын
The more you touch the paint with a brush or sponge, the more it mixes. The same with application. The more you apply, the more it mixes. So in effect, less is more. Be light handed with colour, even though it is black and white. Don't thoroughly mix them, maybe just a quick swirl. Don't add any water to the paint, apply it thinly. Use a fan to help dry faster
