Thank you for the tips! My cat doesn’t mind eating in her crate with the door closed. But after she finished eating, she’s always getting agitated, like she’s scared being locked in her crate. Now I know I have to be patient and take baby steps. Thanks

I never thought about trying to crate train my cats. I (unfortunately) always had to coerce them in every time I had to take them to the vet.
@MicolAndOtherAnimals4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's how it is usually, but it's so much easier and they're so much more relaxed when they are used to the crate!
@SerenaDAlexander4 жыл бұрын
Wow, I really need to try this. My cat hates to get in her crate. I genuinely feel that if I train her with your steps. It will make those trips to the vets so much more easier.

Wow 😳 ok I am your fan ! I have a Scottish fold and I would like to solve another problem... to convince her to quit to scratch the sofa. Maybe I have to apply a similar strategy, to do some actions every day. So far I’m just constantly daily tell her to stop, but doesn’t work so far 😂😂😂 help help
@MicolAndOtherAnimals4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Anastasi! You need to have a much better surface for them to scratch. Do you have a cat tree nearby? And a hormonal scratching post right in front? It’s often just about options!

I'm moving cross country in 2 years. I have 11 cats, half of which cannot be handled or picked up. Several have had bed experiences with crates and won't go near them. What do I do? Try clicker training, each time getting closer and closer to the crate? Please answer, if I can't get them into crates by early October, 2024, I will have to have a friend trap them after I've left, then come back for them. It's a 3,000 mile, 3 - 4 day drive. I don't want to have to come back. I also work full time, I don't have hours before and after work to train so many cats. Please tell me what to do.

@angelikaberber38609 ай бұрын
Such great explanations! But WHY is the crate the size for a Yorkshire terrier when your cat is a ginormous fluffy tiger? 😄 Seriously though…It must be very uncomfortable. Why would you not buy a larger crate so your cat is comfortable? Could probably speed up the process of acceptance massively.
