How can you put 20K per year in a Roth when the contribution limit is less than 1/3? Also, the million at age 20 now is lot of money in comparison to million when you turn 67. It would be worth something like 400K - assuming 2% inflation.

You only get a tax deduction for investment in a 401k if your gross income is under a certain amount, and then it's only about $100 for every $1000 invested.

At the very least, I now grasp the concept of leverage. Creating wealth and financial freedom isn't as tough as many people believe. Building wealth and remaining financially stable indefinitely is a lot easier with the appropriate information. Participating in financial programs and products is the only true approach to make a high income and remain affluent indefinitely.

Most people simply enter the foreign exchange market without comprehending matters like this. The first stage in building money is determining your goals and risk tolerance, which you may do on your own or with the assistance of a financial counselor who works with a verified Finance agency. And also you can learn the facts about saving and investing and create a clear plan, you should be able to acquire financial security over time and enjoy the benefits of income management..

You’re right! Working with a financial advisor who has worked in a solid financial firm for a long time, such as John D. Heppolette, will actually set you up for success in life. I'm delighted I was able to reach out to him earlier this year because while others were grumbling about the downturn in the markets due to the state of the economy, I was busy learning from him and eventually made over seven figures in the first quarter alone, which is why it's always good to join the correct community.

It amazes me greatly how I go from living an average lifestyle to making over £63k monthly, utter shock is the word. I might have missed this but another big advantage to Roth IRAs is they do not have Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). This gives you better control over how much money you must withdraw (heavy liquid) and declare as taxable income, after age 72. For anyone with a large traditional IRA, they might end up in a higher tax bracket when RMDs kick in. I've heard it called a Tax Bomb.

Another advantage of ROTH is that investing post-tax dollars vs pre-tax dollars means you are investing more. People tend to spend the money that isn't invested, so this forces more investment.
@bob.weaver72
@bob.weaver72 10 ай бұрын
"means you are investing more" that is the fallacy if you can invest more you can do it in either. In the Roth if you invest 100 you need the extra to pay the taxes that year (i.e. 120), meaning you can invest more in the pre-tax (120).

Becoming a millionaire through a Roth IRA or a 401(k) involves different strategies for maximizing profits. A Roth IRA offers tax-free withdrawals in retirement, which can be advantageous if you expect to be in a higher tax bracket later in life. On the other hand, a 401(k) provides tax-deferred growth and potential employer contributions, boosting your savings. The optimal choice depends on factors like your current and future tax situation, employer match, and investment options. Consulting a financial advisor can help tailor a strategy that aligns with your financial goals and circumstances.

Prioritizing effective personal finance management holds greater significance than the sheer amount saved, irrespective of income source. Consulting a certified financial advisor can offer tailored strategies to optimize financial results by reducing expenses and enhancing income, regardless of whether it's earned through employment or investments.

I wholeheartedly concur. At 60 years old and newly retired, my external retirement funds total around One million two hundred fifty thousand dollars.. With no debt and minimal retirement fund allocation relative to my portfolio's value over the last three years, I recognize the importance of a financial advisor. Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder.

The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. My friend just pulled in more than $84k last month alone from his investment with his advisor. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.

There are annual Roth IRA limits. For example in 2018 the max contribution amount was $5,500 year, & if over the age of 50 it was $6,500 year. For the years 2019 & 2020 the maximum amount was increased to a maximum of $6,000 & $7,000 if over the age of 50. $583.33 a month x 12 months = $7,000 In your white chart example for age 50, your yearly contribution of $19,800 has exceeded the yearly maximum by $12,800 at the year 2020 rate. It is impossible to bypass the IRS rules for contribution.

I was nearly in tears when I ran calculations on what I would be worth now if I had invested as little as $5K or $10K way back when I was 25, and then factored in different interest rates and different annual addition amounts. It's absolutely CRIMINAL that it's not MANDATORY to teach this sort of thing in schools. There's an old saying - "The best time to plant an oak tree is 20 years ago." The same is true for investing. If you're young, and reading this, PLEASE follow this man's advice. Don't play catch-up, like I'm about to have to do.

I am 40 now and started investing in a 401k at 18. Back in 2007 when I was 27 I had just over 50k in my 401k. Little did I know, that life was just about to change for me. First off the recession hit and during the recession in late 2008 I lost my job. I got unemployment for a short time but once that ran out I had no where else to turn except for my 401k. I took out roughly 12k per year from my 401k until it ran dry. The good thing was that I didn't have to pay a penalty on the funds that I withdrew even though it was from a traditional 401k. Believe it or not I just recently recovered from the recession and started my 401k up from scratch again at age 39. In the last 13 months I was able to go from a 0(zero) 401k balance to just over 36k now. I maxed my 401k out in 2019 and plan to do the same for 2020 and beyond. I am also contributing 2k per month to VTI and plan to do so until retirement. Couple of lessons that I learned here(this is for you guys in your teens/20's especially). #1. always have an emergency fund(mine is 25k) #2. be prepared for a job loss #3. take any job even if it pays min. wage #4. the market will have some bad years and be prepared for years of steep market losses, just keep holding because the market will come back with a vengence. #5. How life is for you now, is not how it is going to be 10 to 20 years from now.

@@antmydude236 If anything I was actually ahead of what my contributions were prior to the recession, its just that my gains could have been much higher. I also probably could have moved back home with my parents during that time but they were states away and I didn't really want to be under their roof again, although nowadays you see many twenty something year olds still living at home. The recession was literally a life changing moment for me and I never thought I would have experienced what I experienced in that time.

They want to keep the American public ignorant of finances and how the markets work. The reason they don’t implement the subject is to keep the majority of students in debt. This keeps the economy going, it keeps Wall Street going. They would rather you pay interest on $50 than pay the whole amount off when due. PAY OFF your Credit CARD bill EVERY MONTH. Learn about FICO scores. Learn about the stock market. Read all you can. You don’t need college for the education. Learn how to day trade. Learn how to chart. You have your life in front of you. Have fun at your early age, but stay focused and you won’t have to work after 50. I know it seems like an incredibly long time, but you’ll soon see, as you get older, time goes by quicker. A couple of risks to consider, especially if you're 20 and considering a 47 year plan. 1. ALOT can happen in half a century, not excluding changes to legislation and tax laws. Don't assume the way things are now are the way they will always be. There's nothing to stop the government from confiscating your savings, like they already do with your social security. Consider bail outs, bail ins, or even a war. It's risky stuff. 2. Saving fiat currency is unwise, even if your interest is outpacing the average rate of inflation, because all fiat currencies eventually die, it's inevitable, not one in history has ever survived, and if you think your local fiat currency is any different, just look up the national debt of your own country and the decline in purchasing power of your currency. NO fiat currency is immune from hyperinflation and eventual collapse, in fact the very nature of a fiat currency makes this an inevitability. It's not a matter of if, but rather when. As another educated commenter here pointed out; if it puts money into your pocket, it's an asset. If it takes money out of your pocket, it's a liability. If you're a wise investor you'll accucumlate assets and generate tax-free passive income/cashflow. A penny saved is not a penny earned.

I just put $7,000 into mine, which I plan to every year. Also I live rent free by subleasing, which also gives me an extra $100. I'm starting to also buy and resell things legally of course by keeping taxes in mind. I've got other plans to become wealthy way before 67.

I’ll live off my dividends by 67 hopefully and the money will still be growing. I have some go into a Roth but I prefer the pre-tax option better. Pre-tax lowers my tax bracket and in CT, the taxes are ridiculous so it’s great for me. Currently making 20% returns on my dividend portfolio for 2019. It’s a good year for investors.

@brad_del
@brad_del 5 жыл бұрын
He is using the word Roth in this video interchangeably with IRA’s and 401k’s. At age 50, you can contribute $25 into a Roth 401k (19k limit + 6K catch up contributions) and 6k per year into a Roth IRA (6k limit + 1k catch up contributions). While this can be done, it is very plan specific (meaning your company has to allow you to make Roth contribution into their plan). He provided #’s here, but did not state the ways that it needed to be done. People often this a Roth 401k is its own type of account. A 401k is a 401k the term Roth just states how the money within that 401k is held either pretax (traditional) or post tax (Roth)

Hello, im 20. When you said set aside $45 a month in Roth ira. What does that mean? Does that mean with the $540 a year saved, i would need to invest that in a stock, index fund etc for it to actually grow? Like if i put in 540 and do nothing it wont grow? My other question is that, say i invested in a index fund now and keep it for 39.5 years (59.5-20). I am finally at an age where i want to retire. How do i get the profit. Would i need to sell the index fund to get the profit or could i just take the difference (between what i bought the index fund for ) and profit out? Sorry for the dumb questions. Im slow, but i learned a lot from your video!!!

Picking new ones soon depending on what my FA decides. We’ve got it all planned out. She knows exactly what to pick. Work smart people...work smart. I’m cheating stocks and it’s working for me😂😊😊
