Rat (as they used to call it) it like crazy, spray until the whole room is full of hairspray. and comb into style. A largish angora sweater helps too.

It honestly depends on if your hair is thick or fine. Personally speaking, I have really thick hair, so the backcombing and trying to get volume in my hair doesn't work for me because it's too thick 😂😂😂
