Everything is good except for 🍅 tomatoe seeds the leaves 🍃 of tomatoes are toxic but the tomatoe 🍅 it self is great for the chickens to eat. Great video ❤

Do you harvest the cover crop and feed the chickens or move the chicken tractor over the cover crop and let them just eat it?

I let the chickens just eat it.

The results of the growing putting a clip at the end in the late fall would have been great. A lot of intros to your info. Could of been 2 mins long stating the plants you like for the chickens. But I took notes, thanks

I know chickens should not eat uncooked beans. Are black eyed pea easily digested?

I just let my chickens decide what to eat and not eat. They know better than I do.

It might make sense to soak it for a few days. It would pre-digest it for them. Research first though.

Your feeding tomatoes to your chickens? Do you also feed the rest of the plant to them? I heard tomatoes and the plant are toxic to chickens.

Well don't tell my chickens that! Chickens know better than me, you, or anyone on the internet what they can eat and can't eat. I've never seen them eat the plant but they've definitely had access to it.

My chickens completely ignore tomato and other veg plants. They don't seem to care for the meat of tomatoes but they go for the seeds. I haven't tried all of those cover crops but I can say in my backyard garden they love regular grass, clover, and will instantly devour any lettuces and kales, collards (brassicas). I need to try peas this year.

I've had several flocks, some flocks LOVE ripe tomatoes (over ripe are best for hens), but I've had a flock that none of tge chickens liked them. How weird, huh! My first thought was, leaves & any greenery from tomatoes are toxic to chicken. Any NIGHT SHADE family are toxic to chickens, so they should only be given the fruit. Just like beans, the beans must be cooked, never given raw & definitely none of the greenery. Secondly, I wonder how well the beans in a grocery store bag germinated, since they have been treated not to germinate. Thirdly, you're definitely not a SEED HOARDER, unless you have a 36x24 DVD case full & organized alphabetically...and buy more seeds that won't even fit... yeah that's me!!! Lol Fourthly, I'd advise some microgreens, they grow fast so u can stagger the planting & for chickens will be doing a happy dance!! NOTE: Mushrooms, onions, potatoes & nightshades (and too much citus) are in fact toxic to chickens. I've been raising chickens all my 60 y/o life, including my childhood with my parents & grandparents, I know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the work it took to make this video.
