I remember waiting for this game after being a long time sim city 2000 and the sims fan. It was a huge leap from the sims to the sims 2. I even bought sim city to decorate and create my own custom neighborhood while waiting for the sims 2 to drop! Great memories! ✨🫶🏻

Very useful tutorial. I've started creating a new neighborhood like 3 or 4 years ago and it's still not finished. Apparently I'm not good at keeping focus at tasks that require a lot of work x'D but I'll get there for sure.. One day Anyway your neighborhood is a work of perfection and I look up to your skills. One thing I may suggest is using a program for renaming files so you can change all the names at once, not having to change every single one manually.

Like everything, the planning, the building of houses, etc. I wanna try creating my own and I know how tedious it will be especially if u are gonna build everything from scratch lol. I'm just not sure how many months or years will it take.

Well, it depends on your plans for your neighbourhood. Personally, it took me about nine months to create Riverville for the first time including planning process, building all of its lots, decorating the hood, designing characters, etc.

Is there a way to make your own custom service NPCs such as maids when you have already made a sim?

Do you mean to transform a playable sim into an NPC? I'm not aware of it yet. However, in my case, I generated service NPCs as in the video first, then I chose the characters I wanted to edit. After that, I changed their appearances using Alt Sim Surgery in SimPE. I created a neighborhood in simcity 4 I imported it but the game cut off a huge portion of the map is there anyway to fix this?

That probably happens when you have a default neighbourhood camera file. You can replace it if you'd like to see the edges of your map. For instance, I use this camera mod in my game: modthesims.info/d/97642/gunmod-s-camera-mod-3-1-all-game-versions.html.

I followed your directions on making a custom terrain/hood but when I load it in to play there are no roads and a lot of the map is missing. I used a small map like you said but two of the three lakes I made are not showing. 🤔🤔🤔

No worries, if you can't see some parts of your neighbourhood, you'll need to replace a neighbourhood camera file in your Documents folder. I use this one in my game, for example: modthesims.info/d/97642/gunmod-s-camera-mod-3-1-all-game-versions.html.

Thank you for your detailed tutorial, I will certainly follow these steps! However, if you don't mind, I would suggest to use subtitles, because the pregenerated ones are horrible, and sometimes it is really hard to hear out the mods' names. Or at least show the mods names when you particularly using one (like the interest and hobby picker). Again thank you for your work!

If you have Ultimate Collection, you'll find it in this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\CSBin\TS2BodyShop.exe. You can create a desktop shortcut for your convenience.
