I just did this method and I really like the result! I didn’t use a blade to blend, because I have thin hair and It wasn’t even necessary, go figure. I left my front ends longer, and I will probably approach an even shorter look in the back after New Years. The way this guide is presented is in a very non-threatening way, so you become unafraid of trying. I recommend to err on the side of pulling your back elastic a little longer than you want, for your cut, just so you have extra hair for mistakes. I cut my hair on a greasy hair day and I made sure to part my hair very well and also straightened it first. I ended up making no mistakes this way! Best of luck everyone!

I have also gone to the salon many times & left with uneven / choppy hair. You would think "professionals" would be able to do an even haircut. That should be a basic that they learn in cosmetology school. But shocked that some still can't seem to do it. So I figure it's worth trying to do myself....I mean her haircut turned out better than any "professional" hair stylist can seem to cut hair in my area. And why give them money to botch my hair, when I can do the same thing or better myself.

I tried this today because I'm so sick of paying so much money going from hairdresser to hairdresser trying to get a decent cut & always being disappointed. I absolutely love it. Best cut I've had in years. Only down side- I snipped my finger with my shears... so be careful. Thankyou so much xxx

Isn't it absolutely ridiculous how most hairdressers have started charging so frickin much?!! I mean, I totally understand they gotta make a living, but [aprx] $85-150 for a wash+cut is a joke and half the time a rip off as many either don't really listen to what you actually want, or they just gave you a really bad haircut. I shockingly found someone amazing. He never disappointed me, not once in the few years I went to his salon. He charged $35 for both cut+wash! This is in a very trendy area in Los Angeles, he could be charging three times as much but would never do that he once told me. Sadly since Covid they're not open anymore. Sorry for rambling, it just makes no sense at some of the prices you see nowadays. This video was exactly what I needed, I can't wait to do this to my crazy "covid" hair, just need the razor 😍

Ain't that the truth. I've been through the mill looking for a decent hairdresser for years. Most of the time, I'm very disappointed with the cut. The odd time I've found a good hairdresser, they move away and I'm back to square one again. I can also say that this is the best cut I've had in years too! Sharee is the best.

I'm a licensed Cosmetologist, and Cosmetology Instructor, and i think she did a fabulous job! It looks great. I started cutting hair long before i went to school. But it's not just you guys that get bad cuts. I actually went to get my haircut once, took a picture w/me, and asked before if they were able to do the cut, & was told yes. I even gave her specific instructions on exactly what i wanted. All i got was a basic blunt cut that i could have goven myself! It's difficult finding someone you trust & that does a great job. I've found the best way I find a great stylist is by looking at other women, & when you see someone who has a great cut, color, whatever you are looking to get done, ask her who she goes to. Hope this helps you all find a great stylist! Every woman deserves to look & feel beautiful, & like a million bucks!

In fact, I wear my hair in an A line bob about that same length. Next time I cut it, which I need to do because it's been like 3 months now, I'm doing it this way. Much easier and faster than what I usually do to cut my own hair. Great job!

@@jessiemelearm5275 Wow! Four years gone by and I'm still wearing the same cut, but if something works you stick with it, right! It definitely works, you need the right tools, too. I've got good hair cutting shears, an electric razor and a good straight razor with different cutting heads. I do this and incorporate a more shattered layer look in the back & sides and BINGO!! I haven't gone to a salon to get a hair cut in about 10 years, being a hair tech, I'm picky about my own cut, only I know what I really want. If I screw it up there's only me to blame! : )

Honestly this pony tail method is pretty full proof, as long as you’re doing it on dry, straighten hair that’s all the way brushed through. And as long as you don’t mind a more blunt look. For me personally, I hate layers, and like my hair all one length, so this technique is perfect for an at home haircut. I always feel I over pay when I get my hair professionally cut, because essentially this is the same thing they do, with the same end result

Due to physical reasons I am unable to go to the salon very often and I just got a razor cutter so I am excited to start cutting my hair again. Also, I know people make fun of them but I just ordered one of the generic, copies of those Crea Clips to make it easier to cut the back of my hair rather than using a pony tail. It is also nice that I have a mirrored cabinet in my bathroom that allows me to look at the back of hair easier.

I don't see anyone throwing shade at you girl. This video is awesome and your hair looks great! I just recently started DIY cutting my own hair about 4-5 months ago. As a homeowner with a little fixer upper house in an expensive area, it's not easy to prioritize salon trips so my hair looked like a hot mess all the time. I got some good hair shears and Googled how to do DIY trims. I had longer hair so that's harder to mess up and figured I'd paid so much attention to how pros cut my hair that I could probably do a decent job myself. Those turned out well and my friend who's a former pro stylist said I did a good job. I got more confident with it so when I did my last cut a month ago I finally went shorter at about shoulder length where you cut yours. It's growing out a bit floppy (picture like floppy cocker spaniel ears when they need a groomer trip) because I have wavy hair so I was looking for some good DIY tutorials to improve my own haircuts. This one is absolutely perfect and gave me some really helpful tips. I now feel brave enough to try using a razor too and I'm thinking that will help with the floppiness. Thanks again for the great video!

Then why the fuck are you here. At least 27 people care, clearly. Don't you have anything better to do than be facelessly rude to young women, or are you here because you're desperate for a DIY A-line bob.. Loser.

I've been watching diy hair videos for a straight hour girl!🤦♀️ But then I came across your video, and omg thank you!!!!! You did such a beautiful job and its EXACTLY what I was looking for. So easy to! Now all I need is a razor for hair. I have great shears but am still lacking some tools. Amazon here I come, lol. I haven't read any comments but if anybody give you 💩🤬 Screw them, it really doesn't matter whatsoever what they think. Just subscribed to your channel. Can't wait to watch some videos 🎉🤩🥳 Thanks again!

THANK YOU! Went to a salon and the stylist pooched the "cut" and I was so desperate to have a great cut I youtubed diy hair cuts and found yours. Followed your instructions and gave myself the exact cut I originally wanted. THANK YOU!!!!!

So beautiful! I’m thinking of trying this on my hair. I’ve gotten this a couple times at a salon and it’s never been even, so I might as well try it myself. 😝 If I have to go have a professional rescue me afterward then so be it. 🤷🏻♀️

I do skin. I can give you a glowing complexion at any age but I have never been able to do my own hair. Girl. You rocked this. This one video had me looking at more of your work and others. I just killed my buds. I have to say I think you have to have the perfect face. Everything you do is pro quality work and you can sell it. You have a great look and that sells soap. It puts the hair out the door and onto the street where it can be seen. I've got a three year timeline in my regrowth I have been holding onto until I can get strand tested. It's time, but now I'm ashamed to be seen in a salon. You have given me the confidence to take it on and handle my business. Thank you. I love your work.

This is a great video. I used it to cut all 3 of my girls hair and a family member who is a cosmotologist asked me where I got their hair done. It grows out really nice too. Thanks for the video

Hi! I've been using this video to cut my hair for a while now. I wanted to ask if you could do a video for being people getting started at home on hair cutting tools. Like how to get a good pair of scissors. Using a razor vs thinning sheers.....It would be really helpful! Thank you.

This made me smile so much! I love the a line bob but I can't ever find someone I trust to do it. I'm a hairstylist too and I've only cut my own hair once. It turned out okay (long layer) but I was using the French method and hated the process. It was so physically uncomfortable and took forever! But this I think I'm ready to try. Thank you so much for sharing with us!

As a cosmetologist it's so much fun to see how people interpet the art with no education, so unique. Sometimes I wish this career had more room for your own experimentation.

Olivia Foley you're not working At the right salon then! You can Follow a guide all day for certain cuts but it's about tailoring the cut to that persons unique hair and shape Of there head. Find you a salon with other great stylists and with great education! Changed my life and career! I love teaching my clients tips for at home. My cuts are not 20 Dollars but there not 100 either, but ALL of my clients love the fact that I don't pretend to know everything! We are constantly learning! This girl should become a stylist because her common sense on angles and adding volume is better then some stylists that have been doing it forever. It's about CARING first and foremost. And remember ladies it's all about the angles you lift the hair off the scalp that achieves different layers and looks!

Also! Do experiment!!! Just use the knowledge you have that tells you what would give you what you don't want, to do what you do want!

I experiment all the time!! u have to! if u didn't do that how are we guna find all these new techniques and methods to do these beautiful new looks?? that's the beauty of this career is u can try new things!!

"The art"?? "no education"? Wow miss snooty high brow...cosmetologists are like plumbers, there is always going to be need as there as long as there are humans but it's really just a crappy service job.......
@lovedancingxoxoxoxo98434 жыл бұрын
Lindsay Morris please do not experiment on real people .. please .. stylist will be absolute soon .. Too many people complaining .. is the products out now... I never heard of so many people complaining about not only inexperienced stylist can’t cut but color coming out really bad... all this bonding shit now they stick in with the color has me wonder .. since a stylist added in bonding shit my color is never right !!! I recommend everyone watch you tune and do your own hair .. stylist suck ass
