My mom never seemed to want new clothes or the best piece of meat on the table while raising her children, but as we all left the “nest” she all of a sudden loved new outfits and restaurants. Her sacrifice was unmeasurable. I only hope to be the kind of lady she was! The arrangements are beautiful. One of my favorite things is to binge watch floral designs on KZbin. I’ve always admired the wedding floral designers, when they’re using fresh plant materials. The timeframe they have to work the arrangements has to be challenging. My anxiety would go through the roof! I applaud everyone that does weddings.

My mom had the gift for lovely gardens as well; maybe because she grew up on a farm. My mom passed away in 1992 when I was only 24 years old. I know exactly how you feel. Her birthday was April 25th. She would've been 86. I miss her, too. My father died in 2022. His birthday was June 1st. He would've been 86 as well. It's hard having both of their birthdays next to Mother's & Father's Day. I adored them both. 😘😘💕💕

@@TJ-ob8oj My parents were farmers! Dad grew up there and mom married into it but was raised with a garden to survive. Dad died when I was 24. So I had lost them both by the time I was 29. I find Mother's and Father's Day very hard. Have to book off work on those days. Sounds like you get me. Thanks for responding and reminding me I'm not alone. We will see them again someday🙏

Today would have been my mom’s 86th birthday. She had a green thumb, loved all plants and flowers, and was the best at arranging flowers. To this day… my daughter and I carry on her tradition of planting flowers for Mother’s Day and her birthday. The men cook and we plant.

My Grandmom had peonies that she passed to my mom & blooms were beautiful but the greens made a great base for store bought flowers/arrangements. I'm in the south now & use yew, greenery as a base. At Christmastime, we have holly & use that as a base. Rosemary sprinkled in makes a table smell great! Good tips in this video & love how he says ...got that at Amazon, Home Depot, etc.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ My great-grand-mama' had "Weknewibpusbi" Roses, that gave the most beautiful fragrance. Moreover, she use to sing to them, the roses would come alive every summer. Lastly, my great grand-mama' past away at the age of 105yrs. Undoubtedly, she lived a full life & every time I go back to Madrid, Spain, the perfume of the roses remind me of my dear great grand mama'.

I started making my own flower arrangements from flowers and greenery from my yard back in the 90's. It is so satisfying to get that natural look for absolutely no money. I would gather herbs (sage, oregano, rosemary, chives, mint, sweet basil and parsley) from my garden also and make an arrangement for my kitchen and would pluck some to add to dishes if needed. They made the kitchen smell so good also.

I have a story to share as a mother. One of my favourite memories comes from a day of dusting. When going over the dining room, I came across a blue and white ginger jar that I often used for flowers. I had found it a a yard sale and bought it to add whimsy instead of just crystal vases. As I picked it up I noticed a crack, and then more cracks. I asked my two girls if they knew what happened. Their answer made me laugh and still warms my heart. While playing the vase broke. The girls knew I used it for flowers so they decided to glue it back together for me. They were only 10 and 6 years old. Those little angles had glued it all back together using their craft glue sticks. I kept the vase just like that on my sideboard for years, just to make me smile at how my love and time they put in to fixing a little vase for me. 💐🏺❤

My mom had 8 daughters, however when I came to decorating, I’m the only daughter she would allow to decorate her room and the funniest things she would come in my room and if I bought something new and she loved it, she would ask for it.
