From a quick read I just did (this isn't relevant for the KZbin system you have) what may be added is a team member column and also columns to add files or links. Easily inserted columns for most Notion users. Think you have pretty much nailed the Gantt system within this video. Nice job!
@muralibalaraman4 жыл бұрын
Gantt is for Projects. KZbin is a Project that is repeated every week 😀

Murali, is there a way to add other types of projects to this template without "breaking" it? Thank again!
@muralibalaraman4 жыл бұрын
@@tinalynn9971 Think of a Gantt Chart as a type of view. A typical Gantt has a From and To Date, The Tasks and Sub Tasks , Dependent Tasks , Parallel Tasks , and Responsibility amongst other things. It also has a marker of where you are in the Project including the Progress. I didn't add responsibility to my example, since I pretty much do the KZbin Videos single handedly ( except for automation ) . Given this very high level description, any project can be managed. A typical project manager would use something like Microsoft Projects that runs into 1000's of lines for very large complex projects, that takes days to construct and weeks to review before it is frozen. But for simple projects like say a Home Renovation, a School Project, an Office Project or Presentation, the template I put out would be good enough.

Thanks for another impressive video, sir! I started using another task manager, a while before Notion appeared. They have a calendar view and I asked them for a Gantt chart. They told me this was used in 'old school' project management! I have planned projects since before we had computers on every desk, ha! Does that make me old school? Well the Gantt view still works in [real] project management! One comment I might make. Sometimes we might enter the list of tasks and their expected durations. When projects slip, this is the number that increases. You seem to calc this with: duration = (enddate - startdate). Maybe we can use: enddate = startdate + duration This way, if there is a delay, we don't have to calculate the new end date. Secondly, we can do 'what if' scenarios more easily. This is useful for assembly, for example, if we are waiting for a delivery of a component. What if this is delayed etc...

Sir your templates are impressive. I'm just wondering what is the difference between your "Notion • Silver : Project Management inside Notion" and your "Notion • Silver - Create a Gantt Chart within Notion (integrates with Timeline View)". Would the new update (June 2022) impact it?
@muralibalaraman2 жыл бұрын
The Gantt Chart is basically a way to create a Gantt in Notion . The PM template is a complete PM system built into Notion. Look at the PM video and you will get a sense of the features. If you need any further help ing me on studiocx360@gmail.com

Great content, master Murali :) I was wondering, is there is a way to daisy chain the due date of a task to be the start date of another? Also, it is possible now to use actual checkboxes :D
@muralibalaraman4 жыл бұрын
Checkboxes cannot uncheck themselves for recurring tasks. Dates daisy chain is already being used inside but it has to be in the same row. Creating dependency can be achieved with relation but trying to get date manipulation done based on dependency is across rows. Only way I can think of is roll ups to pull dates down or up and then manipulate. I use this method to an extent in the latest meal planner template out on my website

looks interesting, but did you create dependencies in the Gantt view?
@muralibalaraman4 жыл бұрын
Yes, 1 Level , can easily be expanded
@danielpietschmann52944 жыл бұрын
@@muralibalaraman by 1 level you mean just direct dependencies and not dependencies of dependencies?
@muralibalaraman4 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Pietschmann the dependencies of dependencies can be done with quickly. A few quick clicks, then you just have to map the dependency items. I have a PM Database that has 4 levels.Project - Sprint - Task - Sub Task , if that’s what you are interested in
