Thanks for posting this I just fitted trepanels and concealed a cupboard door, followed video and managed it myself. Just waiting on Amazon delivery with door closures, job done 👍

How much gap are you leaving at the ceiling for the door to open, you are not showing the finished job, floor to ceiling

Question: did you put panel against the hinge, or on top of hinge? I can’t tell from watching but the 1 gap looks larger. It seems like when next to hinge, the gap is so big it really stands out
@BindlestiffGamesАй бұрын
Yep - I hate that it stands out so much against the rest of the slats

Awesome! that is a lot easier the the traditional bookcase design and everyone knows that hidden door trick, so it is not such a secret anymore but with this, the door is undetectable! 😀👍 thanks for posting!

With the magnetic push locks, if you push it to open, what do you do from the other side of the door? Pull? That means you need a handle to grip so you can pull for the magnetic lock to open from the other side?
@sthenzel21 күн бұрын
Those magnets hold the door only against very light air pressure, they are not that strong, so just push to open.

What do you do if you want to open the door from the other side is it as simple as pushing it

@jonchalk38555 ай бұрын
Put a handle on the inside of the door. Thus, pull, then push to open. Pull the door closed and pull slightly harder to "click" the door closed.

@danielbrown42262 ай бұрын
The method shown is the DIY way. To do this you need to use a SOSS hinge and ideally, use a door of a certain size so to keep all gaps in panelling the same. SOSS hinges are a hidden hinge without the knuckles. This is how us joiners do it👍

What would happen if you put the joint on the opposite side of the door? So not on the hinge point but the opening point. Seems more intuitive to me. So when you close the door fully there is some overlap between the wall panel and openening side of the door.

These are the wrong hinges for the application. I've been researching and a regular hinge like this If it's installed tight and not larger gapped as shown here, the material would hit itself. I'm in the same project currently.

So what are the right hinges what link have you got . Chears.
@DGPSUKАй бұрын
Tried to do this but the door wont open 90 degrees as its been obstructed by the black foam backing as it opens, not sure if its because I'm using concealed hinges rather than butt hinges?? Done everything as seen in this video, anyone else have this issue.

The panel you have in your hand for the first fit 60 cm wide by 240 high is £102.99, I would need 11 boards for my 7 meter wall.. WOW.. over a 1100 quid plus the extras I will pass and make it myself thank you for 1/3 the price with MDF and slats.

I know it was an advert but even so, that was poor. 1)Craig didn’t know the correct word ‘architrave’ 2) He also couldn’t use a drill or driver 3) Leaving the section above the door uncut was lazy and felt like the film crew just wanted it done 4) Those magnetic things at the end should have been embedded somehow - again lazy. 5) No thought given at all about how bad it’ll look when the door is open - loads of ways to sort that out.
