How to Create a Jet / Smoke Trails in Photoshop

Hey guys,
in this fun tutorial I will show you how to create a smoke, airplane, jet trails in Photoshop so you can add it to your images, or you can use them to draw or write something in the sky using smoke trails.

I stopped by about 2 weeks ago and took notes and learned the general idea. Today, I had a fire scene needing rising smoke and so I revisited here to save not only the .abr brush file but also saved the brush settings you provided as a "Nemanja Trails" preset file for future use. Without the explanation of those settings, I realized, the brush has zero character. So, using those settings, my scene had the character in the black smoke I wanted. THANK YOU !! Your videos are a very valuable asset for learning PS. I hope you'll continue to emphasize and explain more and more of the "mechanics" of PS. Without that, it's difficult to be creative just as it was for me the simple smoke brush example above. It's the combination of "settings" AND technique that make your videos uniquely special (not to mention how fun and creative you are). Best of luck to you and thanks again.

Thanx alot for such a nuce tutorial. One question if i dont have the pen how do i change the size like you did (bigger in the start of trail and small in the end near the plane) . You are doing it with pen pressure is there a way to do it with mouse. Or a work path. ?

This is really great! I see you mostly do photoshop tutorials, but in the intro, you were able to make the smoke effects on video. Would you consider doing a tutorial for video? I keep running into situations where I can't find what I need in VFX libraries, so I want to learn to do my own.
