I just completed day 1 of the challenge and am so excited and thankful for this hands-on experience. I would use something else just in case there is some funky business going on especially with the cloud. If you did this all on prem then yes for sure

Quick question, how do you lock the VPC and then add connections? I found that it just prevents me from making connections after that step

You can right click the VPC and lock it that way. You can also send it in the background/behind so your other icons are in the foreground
