I love all of your advice, but a lot of your story shows us that you were NOT in fact the reciprocal of your man, but he taught you how to be. So to me that shows that we don’t have to focus on being perfect, but we have to be willing to work with the man we pick and who chooses us back.

I would humble share my realisation: the thing is we try our best, we lovingly try to rise just a bit above our comfort zone every day to become better version of ourselves....so that when we meet our ideal partner, things are easy. Just think this way....if you really love your divine counterpart very much ..would you lessen his load of improving/inspiring you or increase it!? Also so many misunderstandings, conflicts will be avoided if we choose to work on ourselves always...even after marriage. (While our partner does the same, and we are an inspiration for each other rather than dependent on other for our upliftment)

I love what your mom said. It's so sad too because ladies in feminine energy circles or law of attraction circles sometimes limit what women can have in men, love and relationships. And their perspective of law of attraction doesn't deal with complimentary attraction. It comes from a masculine/masculine perspective instead. I've heard just as an example, someone say before, "if you want a man that is financially established, but you're not financially established, would he want that?" Of course he would! If he wants you, he's wanting you. Not what you can do for him or what he gets from you. I find sometimes law of attraction circles don't understand relationship or masculinity that much

I think its good to have a list of attributes that you want in a husband. It gives you clarity about what is really important to you in a man and in a relationship overall. I've had a list for many years now and have recently gone back to it. I first heard about this while reading a Christian book in my twenties. I'm still not married, but I still advocate doing this for clarity going forward. I'm confident that I will be married, according to God's timing.
