I never comment on tutorials, but this was exceptionally well made. It was clear, precise, and straight to the point, and I didn't scim through as per usual, faffing around to get the parts I want. Thanks!

hands down: the best photoshop tutorial I have ever seen! Most tutorials for low poly editing suggest methods which take up to 4 hrs for one photo. This method here cuts this down at least in half Thank you for sharpening my skills!

Throughout the years of watching tutorials, this one is by far the best one out there. Very clear, simple, to the point and great examples. Thanks!

If you're still having issues with cmd-J, this is how I fixed it. 1) Right click the thumbnail (little picture) on the background layer and click "Clip Thumbnails to Layer Bounds" (you might have to create another layer, and then click on the background layer thumbnail, for this option to show up). This will make the polygon layer thumbnail show up like in the video. 2) Make a polygon with the lasso tool and hit "cmd-j". 3) With the new layer selected, hold "cmd" and click on the thumbnail of the new layer. This should select the polygon. 4) Now click Filter > Average.

@djmorgontzofficial_lol9 жыл бұрын
Translatoryka Angielska i spent hours with trying to figure this out .. i ended up -while recording the action- manually copying and pasting the selection !!on the same (background copy) layer!! (this automatically pastes the selection onto a new layer) and also manually reselect the previous selection (the one that disappeared) with cmd/ctrl+shift+d !!on the newly created layer .. then comes the 'blur - avarage' hope this helped

this is a helpful and cool tutorial. I'm almost done with my image but now it's 3 GB (DIN A 3, 300 dpi) and I haven't got any background or mirrored the polygons yet... are your files as large as mine or are you all working 72dpi for displays? Thank you for this wonderful technique. I think one could try bulding a mesh with Pupetwarp over a white canvas , take screen shot, open it apart and contrast it with Levels so that there are only two colors, B&W. Then put it as other layer over your portrait and enlarge as needed. By the way could you give me the name of the wonderful song you used here? Who is the player? Thanksagain

Great Tutorial, I have been wanting to do this for a while especially in Photoshop. To start off with I had the problem with the polygon turning white, but I had to hold CMD (Ctrl if windows) on the layer of the duplicated poly, which then gave me the poly but selected as well, then it worked completely fine! Once again amazing tutorial keep it up :D -Unikx

Hey!! Great video! But i have a problem.. when i duplicate the layer via copy and try to make it blur average it became white!! Any idea what the problem is??
@estode110 жыл бұрын
same here. u solved it??
@MatteoPezzoni10 жыл бұрын
I solved by appling the process directly to t.he bacground without creating a new layer.
@estode110 жыл бұрын
And then, how do you duplicate to the other half??
@MatteoPezzoni10 жыл бұрын
I do not apply the process to the other half. I do the process to all the figure. But you can also do half of the figure and than select all the area done and than layer via copy and flip the figure.
