Non-fiction books lend themselves well to working from a template for structure once you have determined who your reader is and what the hook of your book is. In this video, Julie Broad of Book Launchers explores how to create chapters and chapter templates. Starting with your book outline, you then work through the chapter hooks, and can identify how you want to set each chapter up.
You can think of each chapter as an idea, concept, or a step in the process, and you must find a hook (a reason the reader needs to read that chapter). If you're writing a memoir you might be sharing one element of the story that feeds into the logline of that book.
