My novel Healer a Novel is currently on Amazon. It’s about two doctors will fall in love in the late 19 century and have wildly different approaches to medicine. What do you think of free promotion sites that are out there on the Internet? Are they worth it or do I have to pay to get my book promoted?

I hope that you are keeping your word about only using ghostwriters to write nonfiction books because any fiction writer who uses ghostwriters or AI to write his books is a fraud, a con artist, and a disgrace to literary fiction.

Julie! My marketing agency owner brain just exploded watching this endorsement masterclass. You had me nodding along like a bobblehead and literally cringing into my keyboard at those "please endorse my masterpiece" horror stories. The amount of gold nuggets you dropped here... I'm going to need a bigger prospecting pan! As someone writing a marketing book myself, I'm both grateful and slightly devastated that I didn't find this sooner. Great video! I did the professional voice cloning with ElevenLabs using only 30 minutes of audio of my voice reading from a book. I did record that audio in a professional studio but did not edit out any errors. It did a good job with only 30 minutes of audio, making it usable professionally. If you use only a minimum of 30 minutes to train it, you need to be mindful of intonation and inflection if you want the best product. When I was asked to "verify" the audio, I was nervous about using my home microphone on my computer, but it worked! They ask you to try and use the same audio set-up to "verify." I did play with the settings after it cloned my voice, which helped compensate for the short, unedited audio I used, as my intonation and inflection weren't perfect when I recorded it. One of the first issues I ran into listening back to the text I uploaded was when my cloned voice used "present" as a noun instead of the correct "present" as a verb. I was disappointed the program didn't "say" it correctly, given the context in the sentence. The noun and verb versions of "present" are pronounced differently. ElevenLabs does tell you how to use Phoneme Tags to correct issues like that, but I found that confusing. So I went back into the text and typed pre"ZENT" so it would pronounce it like a verb, and it was good enough. You can also upload a lexicon or dictionary file that specifies pairs of words and how they should be pronounced, either using a phonetic alphabet (phoneme tags) or word substitutions (alias tags). Ugh - didn't know it would be this complicated. You could use AI to create a lexicon or dictionary file for your text. The second issue I ran into was the cloned voice not pausing when it should, so I followed the advice of ElevenLabs and added <break time= "0.5s" /> where I wanted a half-second pause between sentences. It does tell you if you use too many brackets, it can confuse the program. Another option is to put dashes between words to create pauses, and the more dashes you use, the longer the pause. What worked best for me was using the bracketed instruction for pausing between sentences and using a dash or dashes between words. You should read the Help section for all of this information before committing financially because there are a LOT of nuances to consider if you want to get it right.

Great video! My goal for 2025 is to create a video library for my book, but my question is this: how do you decide whether to film your videos in landscape or portrait mode since some platforms use one format, and others use the other format? Thank you!
@BookLaunchers5 күн бұрын
Well in general I focus on one platform as my main platform and film for that and then have an editor edit it for the other platform. Some people will film different content for different platforms ...
