I have a macro on an old computer running Excel 97 and need to transfer a macro that is on this computer that I run on a spreadsheet I get from another company. So the macro is not embedded in that Workbook, but on my version of EXCEL. What is the best way to transfer this over to Office 2021. I appreciate any help

Very Nice Video Series here. Working with Databases that dump or export into excel and other engineering database dump here as well. Combining them into one means less error. Two workbooks saved into one as csv for database interaction. Your information has been a success. I work with a lot of different workbooks that have vendors customers and costs. Now, I am working with PDF's, trying to get data from them into a excel workbook for up load. Any ideas on this? reading pdf charts and a tables. taking data off charts and building linear regression models is next.

While I was "recording" my macro, I did a series of steps and one of the step is to convert a column from text to a number (green triangle) somewhere in between. But when I ran the macro everything else works except for the convert text to number. Is there a reason why that it didn't capture that step? I did not get any run time errors. By the way, very helpful video and easy to understand.

So when first using the Personal Macro Workbook, the only way to make it appear in the VBA IDE is to record a test macro, right? There is no other setting to create it, correct?

How are you? Because I locate the Personal Workbook for Macro by going into C:\Users\Esther\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART, I completely deleted Personal Workbook. Hi, I have a issue. I am automating a webpage to download a document from it using a vba script. I can click the download option but upon clicking i get a pop below the window like, { open, save as and close}. Alt + S works fine for saving the document. When using shared Microsoft 365 Excel file, can all individuals with access to the file access the Macros? Or is it just the person who created the Macros? and if the original creator of the Macro gets their account deactivated (i.e. leaves the company), does that deleted the Macro with it? If so, what is the most elegant way to transfer all the Macros to a different owner such that the company doesn't lose that information? Sorry for the word vomit ! :)

This was very nice tutorial! However my requirement is a bit different. How about moving this Personal.xlsb file from my machine to other let's say to my colleague's machine. Can we export this Personal.xlsb file at common location and then import it into other machine with macro as it is. I know how to export and import macros but that's not solution I am looking for. Also I tried to copy Personal.xlsb file from my machine and then tried to paste it in XLSTART folder(C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office oot\Office16\XLSTART) on other machine, but it simply didn't allow me do so(I have admin previlages) Is there any other way, we can create packge and make this file "Personal.xlsb" available for other user's let's say 50 user's along with macro in it?

Ok great! I saw your other comment about editing the List Search Add-in (excelcampus.com/list-search). That is a great idea! I will create a video on how to view the VBA project and edit it. The super simple answer is to hit Alt+F11 to open the VB Editor. You will see the Add-in file on the left side in the Project Explorer window. But I will create a walk through video with more details in the future. Thanks again!

Hi Monte, If the UDF (User Defined Function) is stored in the personal macro workbook, you have to type the following into the formula in the cell. =PERSONAL.XLSB!function_name() Here is an article that explains more about it. www.myonlinetraininghub.com/creating-a-reference-to-personal-xlsb-for-user-defined-functions-udfs If you don't want to do that then I recommend storing the UDFs in an add-in file.
