Very nice. Its an old vid but thanks for leaving it up. I have CS4 so no flame effect. Not a problem. I found a work around for flames then followed the rest of your tutorial. Turned out nice. Subbed.

thanks man for the awesome tutorial, only thing i had a problem with when following along was that you didnt go over the flame perameters in the lower section, or on cs6 its in the advanced tab that allows you to mess with the turbulent, jag, flame lines complexity, flame bottom alignment, flame style or flame shape with the random shapes checked. i had to pause and really look to see what you had things set at. other than that great video man i appreciate ya!! :)

Hi there, I am trying this tutorial, and its not doing any "cleaning up" nor is it doing any selecting when i press ctrl click on the layer. Any suggestions?

Which part are you at? What's the timecode? To use "CTRL-Click" to select things, you must have the move tool active ("V" is the short cut for the move tool). Otherwise, you can turn on Auto-select checkbox in the top bar when the move tool is active...

why is the colour overlay method better in this case? it felt like more steps just to change the color?

It's not a matter of effective speed to change a single color, but rather makes it easier to alter the color in the future, if for example, you wanted to change the eye color from green to blue, or any other color. However, I do have to wonder if it wouldn't be more efficient to use an adjustment layer.

Hi big question for you....When I get to Filter, Render, Flame my cc2018 gives me this error message ' The path is too long, a path between 50 and 50000 pixels is required ' what the heck is this supposed to mean??? Help, thx newbie

I have CS4 so no flame effect. I just used some flame vector art, Pen tooled it, then stretched it, copied many times and arranged around the pupil, then continued to follow his tutorial. Mine turned out nice.Hope that helps.

the result is good that you have to have the latest version for it, at least the one from the videos, i don't think it's good. many use the free and old photoshop version cs2 at most cs6 because these are now available for free, not everyone can buy a cc version.
