Making your own scents is the best! I love it too! I haven't seen a difference in the order in which you add each note.

It depends on how much you are using. Always check the usage rate of the fragrance oil. Some can be used up to 5%. So for example you want to use 3% and make 100oz of oil it would be 3% of 100 = 3oz.

Does the potency of each scent note depend on the percentages you create or does it depend on where it falls in the fragrance pyramid? For example, I want my butters to smell mainly of the cocoa fragrance, but I am also adding vanilla and coconut fragrance oils. I am unsure of where coconut and cocoa fall in the pyramid.

Great question! Where it falls on the pyramid is important for potency. Coconut oil and coca would fall in the middle or heart note. Middle notes are fruity, floral, green, or spice.

I think that could work. It all depends on the scent you going for. Test out making .05oz of the fragrance and sit with it for a few days. You can adjust from there. 🙏🏾🤗

U thought the formula for scent should be top notes 40% heart notes 20% base notes 40%…. Not 70, 20, 10..

Those percentages are based on the fragrances I was using! 70% Top because I wanted the fragrances to be the main scent that’s highlighted! 20% Heart because that helps to bump up the smell of your top note, even more, making a more enhanced fragrance! 10% base because that is what carries the scent and helps it linger a little bit longer. This is how I processed this.
