Here’s the link to our video to create a restart, sleep or hibernate shortcut: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2HMmWt7p6p6l9k If you do pin the "Shutdown Button" to your taskbar, just be careful where you put it. You wouldn't want to accidentally click on it in the middle of a project... Thanks for watching :)

Great info. I have been using those shortcuts since Win 7 days. I also made a shortcut for Restart and Logoff. I only use the desktop shortcut option. I don't pin them to the taskbar because it is too easy to select the shortcut by accident and have the computer shutdown when I really didn't want it to.

follow all the steps in the video except do this: shutdown /r /t 0 put in r instead of s which stands for: s for shutdown & r for restart

Yes I’d like to know this as well. I have an older laptop that I use for basically a display using VLC to play old converted videos 24/7 and after time the windows tab disappears. I have to do a hard reset or hover over that area until hopefully it appears. Desktop icons stay visible so this would be ideal

Nice video. Now for a goofy question, is there a shortcut that could be created to restart the computer in Safe Mode?
@FiskX.Ай бұрын
Create a restart shortcut with "Shutdown -r -t 00" and hold shift while you click on it. But you can also restart normally with shift, safemode is rarely needed
@christop_baderАй бұрын
@@FiskX. shutdown /r /t 0 will do for a restart icon, r stands for restart & s stands for shutdown & 0 is the amount of time for the restart to happen, example 5 would be 5 seconds, 0 is immediately
@iuliusRO8221 күн бұрын
the "0" (zero) at the end is for how many seconds it delays de shutdown? I think it is (didn't tried, yet). I believe if you type (let's say) 120, the system will be shutting down in 2 minutes. Am I right? Can anyone confirm or dismiss this? Great video btw. Thanks.

Where the 0 is typed after the -t you can use whatever value you would like, it represents the amount of seconds till shutdown. I use " shutdown -s -t 12888"

If like me Win' 10, you use classic shell, the button is there in the start menu. Don't know if classic shell works with 11, as I shunt be using 11 when 10 ends, i won't know, I'll just stick with 10, I stuck with 7 when it ended, nothing adverse happened.
