I'm glad I came across a easy to follow quixel mixer tutorial. You have no idea how hard it was to find something like this.

is there any chance you'll do a grass/sand stylized texture? No one on KZbin seems to have a good one
@MR3DDev3 жыл бұрын
That's a good suggestion :)
@Frigus3D-Art3 жыл бұрын
The highlights on the edges have nothing to do with lighting. It's edgewear that occures through breaking and erosion. And also the edge of a rock reflect less than the surface. So it is a good idea to drop the baselayer roughness a bit and give the highlights a bit more roughness.
@MR3DDev3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. It would if this was a realistic material but the point was to make a stylized more cartoony rock
@Frigus3D-Art3 жыл бұрын
@@MR3DDev yeah for stylized work you can skip the roughness part if you want to.( Or to save performance) But in your video you said that the edges would be more specular and thats the reason for making them white. Since this is a beginner tutorial i wanted to point that this is wrong and also why it is.
