Hi and thanks for such a great tutorial!! I was just wondering if there's any way to erase some of the twirl to reveal the centre of the flower ... I tried a mask with a black brush but that didn't seem to do anything. Is there a trick? Thanks. =)

Hi Cathy. I'm no expert, but what I did first was to save the twirl as a PSD document (because I might want to work on it some more in the future), then I flattened the image by going to Layer>Flatten Image. This leaves the twirl in photoshop as a single normal layer, which I duplicated by hitting CTL+J, naming it 'Twirl Copy'. I then brought my original image of a rose into the same document as a new layer, and moved the 'Twirl Copy' layer immediately above it. I then placed a layer mask on it and used a soft black brush to expose the central portion of the original rose. And it looks GREAT!!!!! I am glad I saw your comment as it has given me some creative ideas. Hope this helps. Bryan

It sure was. I use Photoshop on a daily basis. I pretty much know a lot about the effects and such, but the "reveal all" is really something that I've never used, and seeing how useful it is I kinda regret not using it.

Reveal All is also useful if you've cropped an image with "Delete Cropped Pixels" unchecked. As long as you're still working with the PSD file, you can go to Image > Reveal All to view the entire, uncropped image again.
