I come back here again after an year and again a load of thanks. I don't have analogue gear. I used native instrument's guitar rig and achieved a very similar result. Thank you so much. I didn't even use any amp and cabinet just the fx chain as you described had help me achieve the tone. I am really enjoying now playing it. Thank you. I sincerely hope this video gets picked up by youtube algorithm. So valuable information.

Great tutorial! And if you use the bridge/middle pickup position on the Strat, you get the Michael Landau pop-rock sound as heard on Richard Marx’s ‘Repeat Offender’ record from ‘89. Cheers!

Great stuff Jason!!! I love the 80's and I love this tone. And I grew up on New Wave, so this video ticks all the boxes for me :-) For this kind of sound I mostly use the Roland JC-120 sim (w/ stereo chorus-delay-reverb) on my Pod 2.0, but I have to try this with separate pedals like you suggest. By the way, that clean Metallica tone was SPOT ON. Cheers mate!

Hi ! I have question, can i make this sound on Marhsal CODE 25 ? Bcs my biggest dream is to make music like this to my own "films" in the future, u know like Miami Vice vibe ... I haven't had the opportunity to experience the 80s, so I want to make at least a little feel like in those years.
@JasonAyalaSpare4 жыл бұрын
I'll have to have a play with one. I've never actually tried a CODE 25
@JasonAyalaSpare4 жыл бұрын
I did some reading, it says you can use up to 5 effects at the same time in the CODE 25 amp. So the main things you need are compression, chorus and reverb.
