Very informative ! Thanks for mentioning the flangy sound; I can hear it in the 1st and 2nd buttons of the DC-2w. For those out there looking for something chorus-ish, but don’t quite like the brittleness of one or if you like the detune type sound of the whammy pedal. If you like superb sound in a pedal box…if you don’t like fiddling with knobs and want something to just sound fantastic in any mode: This one will satisfy your heart content..

Ultra Gain Red can sound Great but you have to set the Gain low . I find anything above 3 on the gain with ultra red gets too compressed and starts to mush out . I did find the red Channel became alot firmer after a speaker swap . I swapped out the V type for a Creamback M and the red ultra now has alot more top end clarity and a tighter more refined bass and low mid .

Would you recommend the Rat or SD-1 to pair with the Distortion+? I’ve heard that the Rat is more versatile and I can get a better fitting tone, especially for metal. But I’ve also heard similar for the SD1. I play Death, Iron Maiden, King Diamond, etc. for reference. I have a feeling the SD1 will fit me more but I’m not sure.

G'day Jason, What a grouse video! LOL I've collected a bunch of Behringer pedals, and want to make a pedal board just for them. Here are my thoughts; 1- I went to the Reject Shop, & bought a Bamboo Bath Board, just for those pedals. They're less than AUD $5, are made with openings for cabling, with room for 10 pedals. Behringer lists a couple of pedal boards on their site, but the bath board thing just seems right. You got to start at the bottom. 2- I need to get the TU300 Tuner - you gotta have one. They're on the Behringer site, but under Guitars & Bass/Tuners, not G&B/Pedals and Effects. 3- The SF300. Everybody needs a Super Fuzz. 4- I've got the VP1 Vintage Phaser, but I'll put the UP100 on my Wish List. The VP1 is much bigger than the normal Behringer pedals, but a cheap pedal board will go well with some overhanging gear. Their Dual-Phase pedal is also on my Wish List. 5- I would swap out the TM300 for 1 of their distortion pedals. There's 3 or 4 versions in their range. 6- I might also swap out the UV300 for the UT300 Temolo. 7- I'm going to put the BO100 on my Wish List too. I might put their Vintage Tube Monster on that list too. 8- I would have to think a lot about using the DR600 Reverb pedal. 9- An EQ700 Equalizer would always be a handy pedal too. 10- I like the chorus & delay pedals from Behringer, because they all have a dry output. That's useful for making a dual amp rig. The DR600 & the FX600 are also dual input pedals. 11- I think that you should have given into temptation, & used the TO800. For the price of a new Tube Screamer, you can get all of your Behringer pedals. That's a pretty comprehensive list. You can also include one or two Behringer amps, just to get that cheesy Fan Boy vibe. Some of them are fitted with effects & a tuner, which can take the places of some pedals on your board. I gave away my old 30W Behringer amp, with my older Squier Tele, to a mate's 12yo son - he's had a couple of ANZAC gigs with his trumpet, & has just started on guitars, but all he had was a Squier Strat. Finally, Behringer has recently included some modeller pedals in their line-up, for acoustic, bass, & electric guitar rigs. I'm not a big fan of modellers, so I haven't really looked at them too deeply. Anyhow, thanks for the great, fun video. Keep up the good work. Andrew BTW, I'm still hanging out for the next Boss timeline episode.

The behringer flanger at first was kind of impressive how it was getting to that mx117 sound when you push the manual control all the way counter clockwise. I wonder if the manual control would bring the behringer to a more reasonable delay time/sweep.. it was "a sound" at first but then that second mode was pretty wrong sounding indeed.. I am trying to hold some benefit of the doubt on that behringer but I have never been interested in one.. if you can get ahold of the PastFX flangers that's the right route ha

You like your modulation effects! I'd take the vib and chorus out and replace them with the tube screamer clone and the metal zone one. Even the phaser could come out and be replaced with fuzz. How does the blues driver clone compare to the real thing? (anyone?). The amp sim I have, could use it in ampless rig, but if into an amp, at best a bonus pedal. I feel the mesa boogie version is best on it. For the price is great. But better amp sims out there for not much more, (Joyo ones etc). Also would need to use with good IR's, this improves it a lot. Ditto all cheap amp sims.

Nice to see some incubus love on that Mesa sound. Didn't love the amp modeler so much but still impressive range in there I could see being useful for a cover set. Always thought the build quality of the behringer stuff was strong.. you could tell they were shaving costs but cared about a lasting design and material choice. Kinda like an interior of a Honda.. never super pretty but tends to hold up well and clean up easy.

Some great solid sounds there, unbelievable for the price really. And glad that it inspired you. That amp modeler oner is a revelation to me, never heard of it. You are right about the phaser, it's just not great. I would possibly add the Super Fuzz pedal to the board, not necessarily for the fuzz (though, why not?). But because it is a fantastic clean boost as well. I hope it's not stretching a friendship to provide a link to my own video review of that particular pedal. Maybe it’s compressed and sounds different on KZbin and sounds bad in the room. Most of this line are really good starter pedals with the standout to me being the orange fuzz. Good video
