Here is another variation of the single cable push exercise that develops incredible strength with the anterior sling. It seems like there are an endless amount of these exercises you can use and they are all fantastic ways to improve your strength and movement skills. This particular exercise is awesome for improving explosive power with the legs and also the rotational movement. The dumbbell is used to create extra momentum to help you push through the weakest part of the movement.
The most critical part of this is executing the weight shift of the legs to remain balanced but also provide the best platform to initiate the movement.

The anterior sling I refer to this with exercise is when the body combines the serratus anterior, rhomboids, obliques on one side of the body to work with contra-lateral adductors and quadratus lumborum on the other side of the body. This helps decelerate the body and create efficient movement with actions like throwing a ball and gait. Most of the exercises using this sling are pushing movements like this one.
