How to Create an Intuitive Abstract Painting Using Watercolors | Mindful Art Practice

Creating abstract intuitive art using watercolors and mixed media is a wonderful way to explore creative marks and develop your own style of painting. To me, the process of painting these little abstracts is meditative and relaxing, much in the same way as neurographic art. Activities like this one are very mindful, can help reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing.

* Arches cold pressed watercolor paper (140 Lbs)
* Water
* Paper towel
* Daniel Smith watercolors in Neutral Tint, Nickel Azo Yellow, Quinacridone Deep Gold, Titan Buff, Phtalo Turquoise and Cobalt Teal Blue
* Kremer Pigmente, Star Gold
* Circle stencils
* Pencil
* Round brushes in sizes 8 and14
* Black Posca Pen
* Black fine tip pen by Pentel Slicci (0.25mm)
* White pen (Uniball Signo)
* White gouache by M. Graham & Co.
* Elegant Writer, 2 mm, Speed Ball Art
* Micro mini brush

As I watched you creating, I felt myself in a meditative space along with you. It is so soothing, your intuitive process, and the result is one of wonder, for me. I too, like bright colours, and seeing how you mute areas is inspiring. I also find that the finished painting will be a place to go for a deep meditation, as I move through and beyond to a calm centre.
