Great video man - Ive had plex for YEARS now and finally decided to pull the trigger on this. One recommendation on that sort title; youre probable better off sticking the collection name at the front to maintain sort integrity if you do decide to switch up. I go with ‘Star Wars 1, Star Wars 2’ etc,

I've had my "collections" sorted by myself in folders in Windows Explorer which is visually clunky in Plex because you cannot set any meta data to the collection and my folders get deep which made navigating Plex complicated for anyone not myself. It's crazy how much options Plex gives us. Thank you for this guide.👍🏾

Make sure your library is displaying "By Title". I couldn't get the collections to show in the library. Figured out the collections disappear when displaying "By Release Date" and probably others that I haven't tested. Unless it's just me and this is a glitch. It's on the strip underneath the Recommended, Library, and Collections tabs

My Tv shows no longer seem to work. Plex scans them then says there is nothing in library. Might go back to older version as it used to work. No idea why it’s failing now.

Can you do a tutorial on how to label files in Volumes, example Steven Spielberg Presents Pinky and the Brain Vol 1. I seen somewhere someone labeled them V01E01 instead of S01E01. Any help would be appreciated

Hide items which are in collection doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried it and still the files show ?. Also I type my star wars folder into the TV show tag but it doesn't seem to save ??

Guys look into Plex Meta Manager SO much simpler. Setup the config file and it does it for you.

Rather than giving it a sort title that is a number (1.5) give them a sort title like so: Godzilla 1.5 Then they will still mostly function alphabetically when NOT in a collection. Also it's a bad idea to sort Star wars that way. It should be viewed in chronological order. Things are revealed about Luke Skywalker's lineage in the prequels. A person viewing Star wars for the first time loses the dramatic effect of original trilogy (The holy Trinity) when they watch the prequels first.

How do you delete a movie in a collection because it shouldn't be there?

Go to the settings on the movie and delete the tag that puts in in the group.

Yes you need to adjust the minimum collection size and plex will automatically start making collections

I have that set and scanned the library and there are no collections despite me having many movies that are part of a collection@@Dan_TheAnimal EDIT: I fixed it by going to the library, going to advanced, changing to SHOW COLLECTIONS AND THEIR ITEMS, then scanning library, then REFRESHING ALL METADATA. This FINALLY made the collections automatically show up. After that, just Go back under advanced and select HIDE ITEMS THAT ARE IN COLLECTIONS and you're good.
