No! I'm looking for how people are sending personalized birthday cards where their animated avatar is gifting a cake or present to their friend's avatar. How do we do that?!?!

This only happens if both parties has set up their Facebook avatar and the person you want to wish happy birthday to has to have Facebook set up to broadcast their birthday.

@@brmorrisbm Not so sure this helps. I know I have my avatar setup. And someone sent me one on my birthday. Then I noticed that another friend was able to receive one from their friends. But I was still stuck lost trying to figure out how to send THEM one!

I' ve done everything you presented on your video BUT on the edit avatar section i don't have the "use avatar emoji" so as to turn it on so i can wish to any of my friends happy birthday with my and their animated animated avatar!!!!!! By "i have done everything" i mean that i follow every step of yours including updating to the last version of facebook and deleting the app from my phone and reinstalled it!!!!!!!! I’m specifically talking about while wishing someone a happy birthday. They can send a very cool happy birthday wish that is animated and on others I’ve seen them wish their friends happy birthday while using their own personal avatar and the friend’s avatar in it. I can’t find that on mine. Everything you showed in the video (included some animation) I saw. Not the birthday ones.

Facebook may have a different number of preselected ones for different accounts. However, you still should have tons of options for creating a pose and background more manually at 3:11 in this tutorial

Great question Cyndi, in some circumstances in messenger or replying it will give some options under the avatar button (only if that person also has their avatar fully set up). When I tried it worked for some people but not others, I'm not quite sure why it doesn't give those options with every account that also has an avatar set up.

At which point does it look very different? Facebook has slightly different layouts for different profiles. Are you using a phone then going to home, then menu in the corner?

Try going to settings and privacy, settings, then scroll down to audience and visibility there should be "avatars"

There should be some animated options under comments and a few animated stickers if you use the steps from the tutorial to look up all options. By default it just shows a couple options, so it's possible your son's happened to show the animated ones and yours only had stills, but you should have a way to access some animated ones
