Thank you for sharing how to make these buttons in PowerPoint. How well do the 4-buttons-per-line scale when viewed on a smaller screen? Increasingly, students are using phones and other small-screen devices to consume Canvas content.

I have listened to many of these and found this got me started best for an upper level class. I agree with Barry, the ratios sometimes change when importing to Canvas. Also, the page looks great when I edit and save. However, when I click "home," the tiles skew due to other types of Canvas content on the right. I found 4 tiles in a row not to work at all. 3 seems to work.

Very clear explanation, thanks. The problem is that although the button formats are identical in powerpoint, once you import them into canvas they change - even the ratios (that are fixed 1:1) change so you end up with different sized buttons. Very disappointing;)

How did you link your email through your contact button?

Hi Alisha: sorry for the delay. The start of the semester has been hectic. Navigate to your page, click on edit, left click once on the button, click on external link. Now, instead of linking to a website, you should be able to type in your email address. I set my contact button up to link to a contact info page so that I can show email, phone, Teams info, office hours etc.
