Hi - I dropped you a note last week through your website contact form. Can’t thank you enough for this insanely great and valuable content. These three tutorials are chock full of really great stuff and come at a really opportune time for me as I’m being asked to do a lot of deck cleanups. If there’s ever a part 4 can you touch on these: 1)providing specs and use guidance to SMEs or clients; 2) updating templates; 3)animations and their value on placeholders or backgrounds. Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will aim to create more tutorials.

@@MagnasMedia Hi -- just rewatched this after a year and it continues to impress with the level of helpful insights. It's unfortunate that AI and 3rd-party templates sites are dumbing down the template-creation process. Just curious -- toward the end you ding your resource go-to's for not offering true templates. Have you ever reached out to them about this? Given the cost for some of these subscription sites, seems like they should up the game a bit and learn from the expert. Thanks again!!

Thank you! No I have not reached out as envato elements features hundreds of designers. Technically they are providing design ideas but the files are not setup properly. I stopped buying templates, however I still use EnvatoElements for graphics, images, and icons. I prefer to setup my templates with a new file to avoid importing any bugs. Individual and small companies can use any software they want and click on the AI helpers. However for organizations with 10 users or more, themes and templates will be the way ensure brand consistency and quality.

26:36 Looks like Microsoft changed this XML file, but I was able to replace what I found with your code and my fonts, and it worked! The only thing that's not working is an accurate preview in the font dropdown under the slide master. I added a font theme using Lato, but the dropdown previews in Times New Roman.
@MagnasMedia5 күн бұрын
Glad the xml file is sorted out. As for the preview, try downloading the Lato font from Google and restart PowerPoint. Sometimes needs to restart before it picks up new fonts.

Hello. Thanks so much for the tutorial. I followed along trying to create what you did but got stuck or confused somewhere. The image placeholder which intersects the rounded rectangle on the TITLE SLIDE ALTERNATE does not show up in the normal view when I go to check it. Thanks, Magnas
@MagnasMedia3 ай бұрын
Glad the video is helpful. If the image placeholder was setup properly and it is not showing in the normal view, it might need a fill Colour, or maybe it got deleted? Start a new slide and see if it shows up. If not, it is probably not set up properly.

@@MagnasMedia Thank you, ma'am. I'm in love. Unfortunately for my novice self, I didn't click on the title slide in the normal view. It was the default slide I was checking. 😭😭😭😂😂😂 Figured it out now!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi! I just wanted to say thank you so much for this content, it's really very well made and extremely informative. I'm having one issue with regards to bullets and their formatting and wondered if you might know of a fix; I've noticed that if in the slide master you remove the bullet from the first level of text (as you did in your example) and later add that bullet back in using the design ribbon, the formatting of the subsequent levels breaks (at least when you use tab or shift+tab to adjust levels). So let's say that I start typing in your basic title+content slide (the text appears without a bullet, cause I removed it in slide master), then i want to add a bullet. I click the bullet-button in the design ribbon and want to keep adding sub-bullets so I press shift+tab to indent: this is where the formatting breaks. The font size and bullet style work fine, but the indentation is wrong and only fixes if I reset the slide. The only fix I can think of is if I format the first and second levels to look exactly the same, then pressing shift+tab TWICE gives me the list formatting I want. The downside of this is that now the first line of text is always a bullet, which I wanted to avoid in the first place (like you in your example)😄 Anyways, hopefully I explained it so that you caught the issue and thanks so much if you're able to help. All the best!
@MagnasMedia Жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking! Yes, that could be an issue if you need the bullet again. In that case, please keep all the bullets on the primary master slide but remove the first one from subsequent theme slides. Or you can create an additional theme slide that has no bullets. That way, you maintain the default slide but have a second option with no bullets. Or keep the bullets in the theme but remove them on the front end as needed. Your decision will depend on how often you use bullets for your content.

Hello. I am Mac user and Roboto is the custom font we use for our PointPoint presentations. I do not understand in your example how you created a Roboto.xml file in your Themes folder. I am starting from scratch and did not get to that step to edit the XML file that you showed in minute 24 of your video. Can you help me understand how or when you created a custom Roboto font in the Slide Master? Thank you for your help.

For sure. I have a special video to show how to do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/op2Yp5ipaZVriK8 You can also find the sample XML files at: magnasmedia.pro/blog/powerpoint-theme-fonts-mac-users
