I’m in the UK. I blindly believed a dentist & let them take out 8 teeth 4 years ago. The denture I was given, was so badly fitted, it sawed off 2 more teeth. It’s caused depression, affecting my marriage & business. I have saved & sacrificed so much to finally be starting to get work started on fixed dentures, with all my upper teeth removed. Our dentist's are crap, my mom when she was pregnant got an infection which cause me to have Enamel hypoplasia, (basically born with no/weak enamel), as a kid they had to rebuild all my enamel, then the same with my adult teeth. The problem they are super brittle. Even if I bite anything too hard that's soft like mash potatoes my teeth chip/snap. They will not remove them because I'm young but I'm constantly going back and fourth getting them repaired, dental abscesses ect

You guys are really transforming lives!! My dentures were made years ago, and my top plate is perfect - I have never even used any type of adhesive on them. Unfortunately, I've had my bottoms done 3 times and everytime I've been told that my gums are just so little and that's the best they can do - but I haven't been able to wear them even with adhesives because they hurt me so badly. Unfortunately I am no longer able to work due to a terminal illness and I have spent every penny of savings I had just trying to keep a roof over me and my kids heads, while waiting to be approved and start receiving disability benefits. I really want to try an at home solution but I'm terrified to mess it up and then it would turn into a waste of money that I don't have. I just wish I could feel like myself again, and actually feel beautiful but not being able to smile has robbed me of my self esteem and confidence. Keep doing what u guys do cuz I'm sure you've truly impacted people in such a huge way and this world needs more kindness like that!!

You can use a dremel on your bottom in the canal to open them up just do a little at a time. Over a week. Make sure to just take small amounts off at a time but they can atleast FIT onto your bottom gums not rub sore spots. Etc. Just take it slow and take little off at a time . Hth !!

Have you tried denture adhesive cushions for your bottom plate? There are a few brands out there and I found Fittydent worked well for me with uncomfortable dentures.

Wow!!! The same thing happened to me! I finally decided to switch to another dentist. It's been about a year since I had started my denture process. It's been miserable wearing an upper that doesn't fit correctly and the lower I have never worn because it was too painful. I started with the new dentist in April, I am now one appointment away from the delivery of my final dentures. The difference between the dentist has been like night and day. One of the first things I plan on doing when I get my dentures is having a nice steak!! Thank you for the work you do!!!

@@B-ch6uk Well, yes and no. I've had to realign my dentures. Now trying to find the right adhesive. Depends when I eat the steak. If I wait to long and have steak for dinner, if I chew on one side the other side begins to buckle. Maybe I just need to use the adhesive twice a day and not go by what they advertise as "24 hour hold". Otherwise, steak is working!!!

I wish I could trust a dentist like this guy to fix my messed up mouth. I haven't smiled since the 8th grade & I'm 53 now. I started loosing my teeth in my 30's. Now they are all (21) broken off at the gum line or my gums have grown over them. I'm in TX & just signed up for a Cigna Advantage Plan that covers $20k in dental, including Dentures. if you're going to get dentures-see if you can find a denturist-they're trained in making dentures and dentists just send them to a lab and hope for the best-also-if you 'can' keep any of your own teeth-get partials so it will stay in and 'no denture adhesive'....things i wish i'd known 30 yrs. ago

I just got dentures myself and still have a couple Months left before I get my hard reline… being that I’m on Medicaid I won’t be able to get a set of permanent dentures for another six years after getting my immediate dentures. I’ve not been able to eat with my dentures in since I got them and they don’t feel natural at all… unfortunately, I don’t have the money to get anything like this done and it frustrates me so much that I can’t even eat normal food yet… I haven’t spoken to the VA yet, but I highly doubt that they will do anything to help me out with this… it is great to see someone be able to get that level of help and support and also that kind of suction in their upper arch!!! I can only dream of that one day

I am going through this right now. I have to force my mouth closed. The dentist said, "I'LL GET USED TO IT". Mine is just upper. I haven't worn them expect once and I won't go out in public without a mask on. I go back this coming Friday to get some work done...I am just going to give the denture back to them and tell them I am going to try and find someone else and hope my insurance pays for it.

😢 I don’t think I will ever have functional teeth again. I already know that a regular dentist can’t help me. I don’t have enough bone left. All because no one told me that if there was a delay between getting my teeth out and trying to get dentures, my remaining bone would disintegrate. I was also led to believe that the neighborhood health clinic was the only place that could provide dentures paid for by Medicaid. I got pregnant a couple months after having my last 20 teeth removed, then my child was born 13.5 weeks early and was in the NICU for 3.5 months. By the time I got dentures, my bone was already far gone. The dentures never fit properly, despite getting them adjusted and relined multiple times. I paid $5,000 to get four mini implants on my lower jaw to try to secure the lower denture, but I didn’t get what I thought I was getting. It didn’t help. At this point, I can’t even wear the dentures because I can’t stand having them flop around in my mouth at all. They hurt. Due to other health conditions, my mouth dries too easily, and having dentures make it even worse. Plus, the stupid things gag me. Ever since I had one kidney stuffed completely full of stones (the entire thing showed up white on the CT scan), I have had more nausea than in my entire life before that point. Also, my jaw popped out of place today. It’s not quite back yet. That happens a lot. The only thing that might help me is zygomatic implants and the all on four or whatever it’s called. It is not available in my state, as far as I know. I live near the largest city, so if it was available, it would be there. Beside that, the total cost would be somewhere near $65,000 and I will never have that much money. I feel completely doomed to live the next 45-50 (if I can even live that long) without teeth. I am self-conscious about how I look, and I can’t eat what I want to eat. There is no organization that could or would help me to afford the implants. There is no help for me. I feel lost. Utterly lost. And btw, my teeth broke down due to another health issue that I was born with.

have you watched the channel by Michelle who shows the process of at home dentures using the method of Dr. Otero. I think it can work for most anyone. I went to a fancy pants dentist and I feel they had little experience to help in my particular case. After me being unsatisfied because o all the reasons you mention they told me I should go elsewhere because I would not buy the excuses they were given me for a lack of technical savvy and experience. The withheld $2K of the $13K they were charging me. The next place quoted $10 K and I finally got it done perfectly after much patience of Dr. and patient for $5100K. I had implant posts they had to deal with, 4 upper and 4 lower. I thought they were very unprofessional and like I was dealing with the classic used car sales technique. What I learned is I have to be proactive. I used my dremel to make the dentures fit better, went back and forth like 12 times to keep refining the fit until it no longer hurt. You have to find a dentist who is also a decent, patient human being and be proactive.. I want to use the at home easy denture to make a back up set on my own. I love my current upper and lower, but I went through hell and back, and like you felt utterly lost and depressed and angry and left behind. Many have no idea how sensitive this situation is and how much shame and vulnerability is involved until you get it done. Its like the pebble in the shoe pain, it seems small but it is crippling until you get it right.

I Have a upper snap in denture, and had a back up made today. I am traveling internationally this year, and all warranty of my original is void if some other dentist works on it In an emergency. Get a backup made now, not cheap if you have implants, ( I have 4 implants), but will not have to be without my smile 😮. Todd

@@horsewithnoname8795 Dremel bit. I’m pretty sure it is spelled “bit.” I found out a diamond bit is the best. The dentist office calls them burs. You put the tips into the device to shape teeth in dentures. Mine are porcelain. Make sense?

My dentist did the same thing to me.. They even had me send pictures of my teeth in, but had absolutely NO INTENTIONS to use pictures of my teeth. I had REALLY SMALL TEETH naturally. I BEGGED them to PLEASE not give me horse teeth, so they gave me LLAMA TEETH!!!! The bottom teeth you can see before you see the top ones, just Google what LLAMA TEETH Look like that's me now... I can't use them AT ALL! I can't even close my mouth and when I show them they just tell me I should have known, and what did I expect. I said I expect I should still BE ABLE TO CLOSE MY MOUTH!!!! Nope... It took me years to have it done because this was my absolute worst fear, and it came true. Now I'm stuck like this and there is absolutely no way out.. just got temp dentures was under the impression that the person making dentures trained found out the person doing it was just a kid...(Nothing against fast food workers) but the person doing it was just off the street who worked in fast food...

More than three years i had to have all my teeth at one time pulled, had dentures made, but they never fit, i gag on them and they fall out no matter what , they have been relined but still not fitting any i still gag

*Luke Kahng* I am 100% against any metallic component. Why didn't you use an highly durable red material or why you didn't replace the metallic component with a non-metallic reinforcement, such as carbon fiber rods?
