Something I learned in high school from my crazy art teacher, when composing a piece, if you are not sure if it's balanced, turn it upside down and whatever isn't right will stick out immediately. I have use that trick my whole life of 74 years in my artwork. It has made it so much easier to get a balanced piece. I believe in paying it forward as you are. I have learned so much from your videos so I hope I can give a little back. Thank you for sharing.

I love your sense of humor. I've been kneading paper to break the fibers and it makes them cloth like. I turned a piece of waxy tissue paper down to a soft fabric.

If you used sheet music of The Beatles songs or even newsprint photos of the group between the interfacing sheets with your painted “beatles” bugs it would be a play on words. Thanks for sharing your cool method.

It always amazes me the types of techniques you come up with and just make it so fun to watch and then get my creative self wanting to go get my carat d'ache out and play - I am trying to see if these will work in a handbag - something different to add to my handbag business. You are a hoot as well - so funny -

I love that you decide quite quickly for these pieces. I always spend so long deciding. It’s ridiculous that I do that.

It would be cool to use sheet music from The Beatles songs or even newsprint pictures of The Beatles band between the interfacing sheets. Then with your painted “beatle” bugs it would be a play on words/ideas. Thank for the video. I like the idea and method.

Thank you for this fun tutorial! Could one use Inktense pencils instead of the Caran d'Ache or Lumiere paint?
@HelenGoddenQuilts2 жыл бұрын
Yes. I use a combination in the demonstration. Just be careful with your Inktense and use refunded blunt ends rather than sharp pointy ends of the pencil as it could rip into the interfacing

Love your work Helen! Been binge watching all of your clips. Love love love it! So inspirational! The crayons, i understand they are oil pastels that are water soluble? How is it when dried, does it rub? Thinking if used as an envelope to a journal. Will it stain inside of the bag when travelling?
@HelenGoddenQuilts Жыл бұрын
They are not oil pastel. They are water based. They are like watercolour paint but in a crayon form. Once activated by water, they sink into the fabric or paper and dry. Not sure about the second part of your question.
