List of Target Modifiers
@player - Targets the player.
@target - Targets the player's current target.
@mouseover - Targets the spell on the target that the mouse is currently hovering.
@cursor - Targets the spell in the terrain the mouse is currently hovering (only available for spells with reticle targeting, like Mass Dispel or Blizzard).
@focus - Targets the focus target.
@targettarget - Targets the target's target.
@boss1..N - Targets the first unit in the Boss frames.
@arena1..N - Targets the first unit in the Arena frames.
@pet - Target the player's pet.
List of Conditionals
pet - true if the player has no pet currently.
combat - true if you're in combat.
harm - true if the target for the cast is an enemy.
help - true if you can aid the target for the cast.
dead - true if the target for the cast is dead.
exists - true if the target for the cast exists.
channeling - true if you are currently channeling a spell.
button:number - (or btn) used to check with which mouse button you activated the macro.
talent:Row/Column - true if you have the talent for the Row/Column combination selected.
equipped:slot - (or worn) true if you have an item equipped in the slot.
spec:number - true if you're currently in the specialization given by the number.
group - true if you are currently in a group.
indoors - true if you are currently in a position that is considered indoors.
outdoors - true if you are currently in a position that is considered outdoors.
flyable - true if you are currently somewhere you can fly.
mounted - true if you are currently mounted.
flying - true if you are currently flying.
swimming - true if you are currently swimming.

This is quite possible the best macro breakdown I've ever seen done in 13 years of searching. The basics are always provided, and it often seems like sites keep the "best" or "high skill cap" macro's completely hidden and unspoken about. Great video. For your weak aurora video, could you please show how to make a WA noise alert ( I like to use sounds to notify me when something comes off CD or procs) for when I have 2 charges of barbed shot when In combat? So when ever I hear thjs chime or what ever sound I choose, I will know to fire barbed shot immediately so I don't waste any potential procs of said barbed shot.

If you open your spellbook and shift+click the spell whilst typing in a macro window, it will insert the spell name into the macro. Voila, no spelling errors

A trick to make sure a spell is being typed correctly is you can shift-click a spell in your spell book and it will add it into the macro. Really helps for things like racial abilities.

So do you essentially replace your commands with the macros? For example, instead of putting your Barbed Shot on your action bar, you put the macro (with the same icon)? Forgive my lack of knowledge. I've been playing the game for the past year and a half without any macros at all...

That's right Alan - and so it means, for example, every time you cast Barbed Shot using your button or keybind, you're running the macro instead (and therefore getting your pet to attack etc etc as well as any other commands in the macro, in the order they are in the macro)

Really enjoyed this tutorial. I found this because I am looking for some help with casting Swiftmend or Rejuvenation while in Moonkin Form. It takes me out of Moonkin Form. I was trying to find a macro solution to put me back into Moonkin Form whenever I cast Swiftmend or Rejuvenation. I dont want to make another action bar to add more spells! Ideally, I would like to be able to use Swiftmend, for example to heal myself or an ally, then change back to Moonkin form and continue to DPS all in one button press (ie: my "E" button - which is currently bound to Swiftmend). I can't figure it out and can only do it by pressing the "E" button twice :P

hi fella, this was a great video, but I'm not able to go to the links in the box above. They won't load. If you still follow this content, I was trying to make a macro to cast Soothing Mist on my mistweaver monk for 6 seconds on a player, and after I've reached 6 charges to cast Zen Pulse at the players location. For me, this seems to work: /cast [mod:alt, @player][@cursor] Freezing Trap And this doesn't (even though the shift combination is not bound in settings): /cast [mod:shift, @player][@cursor] Freezing Trap When I push shift+3 (freezing trap is on 3) you can see it highlight and get pressed with a flash but does nothing, so strange.
