Michelle, you are always right on time with your resources. As we get closer to Thanksgiving break and winter break, we really need some fun, engaging activities to keep our students excited about learning. Games always add a nice little competitive edge to learning, too. Thanks for continuing to present inspiring ideas for teachers to try out. We appreciate all you do! Have an amazing weekend! 💜

Hi Mandy! 🖤 Woohoo! I'm so happy this was timing for you (yes... this is the time of year when students need a little extra fun to sustain their attention and stay motivated). I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a thoughtful comment as always! 🥰 I hope this week is good to you and Halloween is all treats and no tricks! 😂🎉

Thank you SO much, Michelle! Your videos are so helpful and I’m always learning new things from you! Just made my own Four in a Row to try out this week with my 1st graders (and changed it to be Halloween colors) so they’ll have so much fun playing it against me as we practice our Fundations words! 😊

Thank you for sharing this! I'm going to use this concept to create a check-in board for zones of regulation and attendance all in one. What is the easiest way to reset the board?

Hi Michelle !, I am a little itchy to see your Hungry Hungry Hippo game in demonstration because My Teachers NEVER tried that nor had it like that when I was a young autistic school student. You truly are in ways what My Hospital Doctors would have ordered. - Dwight

I tutor children on-line. I have been doing both of these games on Jamboard. Thank you so much-I will just transfer them to Slides. Just a note. I put numbers on the game pieces. Then the student has to 1. Read the number and tell me if it is an odd or even number. or 2. read the number then tell me what the answer would be if the number was multiplied by itself. or 3. Read the number and tell me if it is a prime or composit number. There are any number of ways to use the games this way! Thank you. I have been looking for a substitute for Jamboard but now I realize I can use Google slides for some or hopefully all of my work.

I tried to go back and find this information, but I just can’t, what did you do to stop the students from being able to change the background it’s the step before you start inserting the movable pieces but I just can’t identify it, thanks 1 million in advance! You are awesome!
@Herewegrowclassroom4 ай бұрын
I couldn't find it either. I think she mighy have forgotten that part. I believe you will need to save everything as a .png file before adding the movable pieces.

Hey Michelle, I’ve made tic tac toe and Concentration (Memory Match) on Jamboards as well. I still teach online. I have the students who live too far out on the country to attend daily. I was hoping to see how you input the questions into your games. ??
@PocketfulofPrimary11 ай бұрын
That's awesome Anne! I would recommend making them in another platform such as Google Slides though... Google announced that Jamboard is shutting down at the end of 2024. I have a video coming about that next week! But, to input the questions, I just add another slide where I list the questions and students would type their responses. Typically, I put the question in the slide theme so it can't be edited and I add the editable text box on top (similar to how I created these games in the video). Or, I've also linked to other platforms like Google Forms with questions.

I love it thanks for sharing ❤ Is there any way to show us some high school students math games for geometry for examples
@PocketfulofPrimary11 ай бұрын
I have never taught high school geometry so I wouldn't be the best person for that but this tutorial can be used to make any game and you can pair the games with any set of questions.

Idk if this works in google slides but for tic-tac-toe I would just make a 3x3 table and make the outside borders transparent

I can’t get the game pieces to move after sharing.
@PocketfulofPrimary11 ай бұрын
Did you place them on the actual slides and not on the slide theme? Also, when you share the slides, does the other account have edit access? Edit access is needed to move anything on the slides.
@mandylongbine47111 ай бұрын
I used the theme. I did not share as editor.
@PocketfulofPrimary11 ай бұрын
There are your issues. Only the background elements should be in the slide theme and the moveable pieces need to be on the actual slide which is what I showered in the video. Also, you would need to share with edit access and/or a force copy link.
