Honestly, I never considered using a 70-200 rather than my 24-70, but it really makes a lot of sense. Thanks, Adam!!

Don’t forget to advise people to make sure their ink is full. No fun running out half way through a large print.

I thought the Canon Pro 1000 would determine the amount of ink needed prior to printing, and would prompt for a replacement if necessary vs running out during a print. At least that was my experience with the Pro300. I"ve only had 1 replacement cartridge on my Pro 1000 so far and it was either before or after the print that it prompted a replacement was needed. Unless of course you are refilling your own inks and then perhaps that's an issue. @@Firstmanphotography @mikehalsall8026.

That’s a good question. If your ink is low on one or two cartridges, but not empty. You obviously don’t want to waste those inks. Would you take them out and replace with full cartridges, then put them back in for smaller jobs later?

Adam, love the video. Couple of questions for you, 1). How often do you print using your Canon? and 2). Do you make your prints in a batch to save setup time or ? Thanks again for your informative video!

Hi mate.....I use it several times a week. I don't batch print. I print the photographs I make on a shoot (usually 3-4), then I print to order for sales.

I'm very interested in buying a printer, but my wife and I just don't have the room for one for now. We have one of the pixma tiny printers which we love, but right now still send out our prints to a print house. I really love the idea of being able to gift pictures - I can only imagine that some of our friends would love a high-quality print of their children etc... One day... One day...

I was just telling my wife that I needed to slowdown when I'm taking photos. I recently shot a few panoramas, but I'm lazy and did them all handheld. Normally this works without any problems, however I found more than one that were essentially ruined because of 1 or 2 images that showed some obvious camera shake. It was very disappointing, however I did get a few that came out just fine. Definitely needing to remember to use a tripod and take my time instead of feeling rushed. I definitely need to play with using my 70-200 for shooting panos - great tip. Also wanting to see about getting them printed as it's probably been over 10 years since I had one printed. Thanks for sharing your workflow.

I have made a lot of panoramas, and still got some great tips here. I will now be more conscious about using my longer lenses (and avoiding my wide lens). In addition to fixed focus, iso, aperture, shutter speed, do you recommend avoiding auto white balance?
@Firstmanphotography
@Firstmanphotography 11 ай бұрын
I generally set the white balance manually (doesn’t really matter which if you’re shooting RAW, just whatever you prefer), although I’ve often shot them on auto white balance. Even if the AWB shifts, a natural shift in white balance across a scene isn’t necessarily a bad thing and it’s what your eyes would do anyway.

Hello i have just bought the canon pro 200 and have a question about the paper for panoramic photo's because i saw the Canson infinity paper but it's only to get in rol BARYTA PHOTOGRAPHIQUE II MAT 310 GR/M² - ROL 17" X 15,24M but i think this is not working for the canon 200 so can you give me advise what paper is the best for panoramic photo's on the canon 200 printer ? and you can buy this also in the netherlands ! This is brilliant. Does the paper you used come in long sheets, or in rolls that you have to cut?

Where did you get your roll paper flattener? It did a great job. Both the panos were spectacular. Large prints always look great. Framing is a pain though.
@Firstmanphotography
@Firstmanphotography 11 ай бұрын
Yeah. I take them to a framer. I think they look good mounted on a board too which is a bit cheaper. I made the flattener myself by taping some Lino (which I cut from a backdrop) and sticking it (using duck tape) to a small diameter packing tube. It works perfectly.

@@Firstmanphotography good tip on the lino. I made one from a repurposed roller blind but it doesn’t work anywhere near as good as yours does.

You can just print it onto a normal paper (eg. A2, A3+, A3) and then trim it down.

Which lens collar are you using for your 70-200 F4L? I'm thinking of getting one myself specifically to shoot panorama images as seen in this video.

Great Video, Is the border not equal in every side? Can you tell us about the paper and being , as it seams in the last moments of the video, not parallel to the print? Why and how can we prevent that to happen?
@Firstmanphotography
@Firstmanphotography 10 ай бұрын
It's just about lining it up a little more accurately......but it also doesn't matter!! The border is not for display. The white space would either be cut off to attach to a board, or used to attach to a mount where you would only see the printed area, ready for framing.
@Firstmanphotography
@Firstmanphotography 10 ай бұрын
If you wanted a paper border it would just be a case of printing a little smaller and then trimming down to size.

I love the Pro 1000, it's print and build quality is superb. However, unfortunately the sheer quantity of ink it wastes put me right off and made me go Epson. While the cartridges for the Pro 1000 are the biggest out there, and would have sold me the printer, it uses too much of the ink on maintenance (even when the printer is in regular use). If it was printing constantly, all day every day, the timed cleans would become negligible, but when only printing a small number of prints per week, it makes a massive difference.

I dunno really. I love doing panos. But I feel its only useful for zooming in to elements and make them huge. Otherwise panos are kinda useless. You end up with a huge spaces with no real subjects and no real leading lines. Boring.
