Hey try to transcode from proxy to optimized before output file and I can't change it. Seems when the window pops up I can't change any settings. Any other videos that can help me?
@pixelfilmstudios2 жыл бұрын
Can you clarify? Do you mean you're not able to change your media type after editing? We wouldn't recommend to change your media type during the editing process. You should stick with editing in one media type for the entire duration of your editing process to prevent any glitches or errors in the video.

can you change the location of the proxy files in case you dont have space on the main disk?? thanks

If I'm experiencing long rendering time or playback times shouyld I optimize ALL the video in my browser?
@pixelfilmstudios2 жыл бұрын
We would recommend to optimize FCPX's overall performance by turning off background rendering, changing the editing mode to "Better Performance" when you click "View" in the upper right of the Viewer window. You may also want to delete your render files for the project (we've got a video for that too 😉) kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5yzgIKEhKqpZq8

Hello, does the technique you are using the video work with 100+fps?
@pixelfilmstudios3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, we don't understand the question- editing with optimized or proxy media shouldn't affect your FPS from your video, it simply lowers the file size while you edit.
@bennyphelix4 жыл бұрын
i have one doubt.... after editing using the proxy media we can render the video in proxy media or we should render files in optimized media??....before the export of master file????
@pixelfilmstudios4 жыл бұрын
Proxy and Optimized media only affects you during the editing process. Which one you use depends on your personal preference. The export will retain the quality of the original files, the type of media you create during the editing process doesn't affect the export, 👍

So your saying when when render out the video we have the ability to delete the files that we used pre the curing and sorting the clips?
@pixelfilmstudios4 жыл бұрын
The prompt doesn't come up during the render process I think, but you can delete the proxy and optimized media files before or after if you wish. The media is to optimize the editing process so it shouldn't affect the render. Check out 3:55 - 4:22 again if you need the reference :)

Thanks a lot, very useful tutorial I have a little problem though, when I delete the optimized media the clips which I applied some effects become very very bright, putting down the highlights doesn’t help. Do you know what it might be and what can be a solution ?
@pixelfilmstudios4 жыл бұрын
We are not sure. Perhaps you can contact Apple's support about this issue, it might have something to do with your Final Cut?
@AND224 жыл бұрын
BrijKishor this might be due to the picture profile you used in your video from the camera, in this case you can try the following, select the clip -> go to the inspector info tab -> scroll down and select settings -> scroll up look for 'color space override' -> select from the drop down Rec 709
@MarkBowenPiano4 жыл бұрын
What exactly happens if you choose both optimised AND proxy files though? Seems almost like the two don't really go hand in hand so what does FCPX create when you so both at the same time? Thanks.
@pixelfilmstudios4 жыл бұрын
If both optimized and proxy files are checked, camera native files will be converted into both optimized and proxy files and both transcoded formats are imported into Final Cut. This means you can switch between playback between either while you are editing in Final Cut. You would go to Final Cut Pro > Preferences >Playback> then click Proxy or Optimized depending on your preference. You can't edit in both at the same time, so you would have to specify if you are wanting to edit in one way or the other.

@zoopatrolproductions3 жыл бұрын
What about the export/share...what happens there?
@pixelfilmstudios3 жыл бұрын
Editing in Proxy media is fine, but if you export while still in Proxy mode, you will be exporting proxy media. This means the quality will be lower than desired. Editing in Optimized media should have no effect on the quality of the export.
